You can be sending me the same thing in a few weeks, good friend. Is that where your seats are for your shows? My Cleveland show will be a similar view me thinks. Boston is the floor.

parmeda Meg - it's this weekend, hon

17th October 2007 09:22 PM
parmeda Hubby can't swing the time off of work, so the Hootch is coming with me.

She tagging along next week to see Dylan.

I'm doing quite a good job in corrupting her into my bad habits!

OK my "official" releases favorites Bob are:
#1 Hammersmith Odeon London 1975
#2 Live in New York City
#3 Live 1975-1985
and of course Dublin Live Seeger sessions
17th October 2007 10:20 PM
robpop I agree Hammersmith Odeon London 1975 is the best. The sound quality of a concert recorded over 30 years ago is awesome. This is a must have.

Not truly an album, with only a few songs on it I have to add "Chimes of Freedom" to that list.

Boy, cell phone cameras suck, don't they?

MSG 10/17
Radio Nowhere
The Ties That Bind
Lonesome Day
Gypsy Biker
Magic
Reason To Believe
Adam Raised A Cain
She's The One
Livin' In The Future
The Promised Land
Brilliant Disguise
Backstreets
Darlington County
Devil's Arcade
The Rising
Last To Die
Long Walk Home
Badlands

Girls In Their Summer Clothes
Thundercrack
Born To Run
Dancing In The Dark
American Land

Good, not great, show tonight.
Backstreets a highlight, of course.

Bet tomorrow'll be the night.
Must. Get. In...

One aside - Bruce's political rap before Livin' In The Future was met with some loud and very negative catcalls where I was sitting.

Tough crowd, Noo Yawk.

Gazza from past Springsteen shows (since 1993 anyway), they tend to have that 'element'

well, theres five live albums. All of them very good, apart from the "why did he bother?" release that was "MTV Plugged".

the "Hammersmith", "Live in NYC" and "Seeger Sessions" ones were also released as DVD's, so its maybe better to get them in that format

Next summer sees the 30th anniversary of the release of "Darkness On the Edge of Town". Its hoped that Columbia will mark it with a reissue as well as a live DVD/CD from that tour in the way they did with "Born To Run" a couple of years ago.

Lazy Bones I recently read a couple reviews that the Barcelona DVD has poor audio. Any truth to that? I was thinking of getting it, but these comments have - at least, for now - held me back...
18th October 2007 07:37 AM
Gazza Cant say I've noticed any problem with it. Its a great show and an AMAZING crowd.

I dont think I'm alone in thinking that places like Italy & Spain have in recent years become his most passionate audiences

Good luck getting in buddy. Hopefully he'll shake things up a bit, even thought I do not see any major shake-ups in the setlist this first leg of the tour. His return next summer however is a different story. I was going to make the trip to NYC but that work thing got in the way. I still have not decided if I will make any shows outside of Pitt.

Glad to hear! I bought the new CD & I'm most impressed by the title song & Long Walk Home. But that Last To Die song blows.

Tried TM online and via phone all day - nada.

Didn't fancy getting to MSG hours after the drop line started, and there were waaay more buyers than sellers on the street last night, so no Bruce for me tonight.

He'll shake it up tonight for sure.
Hope that shake up doesn't include From Small Things, though.
He needs to save that one for Boston...

Next summer, stadiums?
Meh, 'cept maybe Pittsburgh or Fenway.

GTRM and Leftie were not successful in their ticket quest!

Gazza Too bad. Always next year though..there'll be plenty of shows.

To add insult to injury, Bruce soundchecked 'Empty Sky' and ..........'Jungleland' this afternoon.
18th October 2007 08:35 PM
ebmp For me the best Live Release, especially for someone that isn't a fan is Live 1975-1985

It covers a great period of his live career, with lots of great songs... Sure, there are omissions such as Prove it All Night and Jungleland, but it's great

Hammersmith is fucking awesome too. Great audio quality

But what you should do is get one of his bootlegs. I recommend these:

Live Passaic 1978
Live Winterland 1978
Live Cleveland 1978
and espedcially Live Nassau Coliseum 1980
