Was at Continental Airlines Arena last night. Great show, of course. Although, I was hugely disappointed to learn via Backstreets.com that he had listed "Incident" and "Backstreets," but ended up playing "Darlington County" and "Brilliant Disguise" instead.

The new "Reason to Believe" is a revelation, and "Thundercrack" is a blast.

Just as well he didn't play "Incident." I couldn't get tickets for these shows. I would have had to commit hara-kiri if he had played "Incident" - or anything from side two of "Greetings" for that matter. Or even "Jungleland" or "Thunder Road."

Oh, the pain.

Hate to be a bummer, but great tickets dropped yesterday and again today.
Picked up GA's yesterday, but couldn't make it tonight.

MSG shows are next week, so keep tryin'...

wasted Springsteen Is Boss Of Album Chart With 'Magic'
Springsteen with the E Street Band

October 10, 2007, 11:00 AM ET

Katie Hasty, N.Y.

Bruce Springsteen scores his eighth No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 with the "Magic" (Columbia), which moved 335,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's his best sales sum since "The Rising" started with 525,000 at No. 1 five years ago.

Springsteen's other chart-toppers include "The River," "Born in the U.S.A.," "Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band 1975-1985," "Tunnel of Love," "Greatest Hits" and "Devils & Dust."

fireontheplatter i just watched the 3 songs they aired live from the izod center in nj...it was awesome. they sang radio nowhere, night and then lonesome day. 3 free songs

i got to say he sounds great and so does the rest of the band, but i can't help thinking these back to back lenghty shows might just kill his voice. it already sounds like he's straining.

go for it bruce.

Saw a few MSG for sale on Backstreets, GTRM!!

If you can stand outside the Beacon waiting for tickets that were never to appear...you can hit MSG and Bruce and probably score a GA with no problem!!
Come on Girl!! Positive thinkin'!!!!

He's doing back-to-back dates in many cities, but with quite a few nights off in between stops. There's a six-day break between Michigan and D.C. next month, for instance.

It always happens to me; I warned my concert-mates last night: You're gonna get the vanilla setlist, and it's my fault. I get Omaha'd by all my favorite bands.

I hear ya. Gimme some Rocky Road!
Went to the second Philly show, and after seeing what he didn't play last night, I was even more let down.
Just knew tonight was gonna smoke...

Fuck me pink!

Bruce - you fucking bastard!

'Cynthia' - Jesus wept. He actually opened one of the Giants Stadium shows with that in 2003.

Just imagine that. A live debut of a 24 year old outtake that was only released on a boxed set of unreleased songs five years previously. As the opening song. In a stadium show.

THAT's just showing off, quite frankly.

Thats because it simply wasnt mentioned in the lists that were going round which mentioned several 'options' for second shows, (which was admittedly quite puzzling as its a good market)..it appears that his management didnt really have any intention to play a 2nd night (evidenced by the fact that the additional show is now actually the FIRST night)

Delighted for you guys youre getting a 2nd night

Yeah thanks Gazza. It did seem to come out of nowhere. Backstreets didn't even have it listed as a rumour. That's why I was stunned when I heard a guy from Live nation come on the radio and announce a second show.........Now what are the chances of Bruce sticking around until Sat. and being a surprise guest at the Bridge School concert?

He opened with "Janey Don't You Lose Heart" at the '03 Giants show I saw. And then, in D.C., right after Johnny Cash died, he opened with "Walk the Line." Unreal.

Saint Sway the sound on last nights broadcast was pretty poor - especially on his vocals.

performance was spot on. Even with very little rehearsal they already seem at mid tour stride. They give off great energy.

I love the minimalist stage. A true sign of a band that knows they can deliver every night and dont need the crutch of a big smoke & mirrors stage show.

loving the set lists.

my only other observation from the broadcast was how much everyone in the band really is now showing their age. By that, I mean they've all got the mid-life paunches and extra pounds, thinning hair, droopy jowells. Nothing wrong with that. Thats life. But seeing that just ads to my amazement at how the Stones figures havent changed a bit over 40 years. The Stones faces are surely weathered and showing their age and years of torn & fray, but their figures are freakishly amazing for men of their age. They really have defied the laws of nature in many many ways. Its quite incredible.

Gazza Dont know if any of our Aussie members are Bruce fans, but it seems that his tour Down Under should be announced within the next couple of weeks or so.
