glencar When's this thing end?
29th June 2006 02:22 PM
Gazza when we say it does!

actually - its July 9

theres only 8 games left
29th June 2006 02:35 PM
glencar They're not showing it on cable anymore unless you buy the pay-per-view. I'll pass!
29th June 2006 07:03 PM
Gazza thats intelligent programming - show the relatively meaningless early rounds and then dont bother with the knockout stages

Just because the US got knocked out, I presume?

I thought they were showing it on ESPN?
29th June 2006 07:09 PM
PartyDoll MEG Glenny, it IS on ESPN.

Sorry I have to be at work tomorrow and will miss. -TiVo is my friend.
29th June 2006 07:13 PM
glencar Meg, my ESPN (Dish Network) showed an ad that says it's ESPN pay per view. I was busy posting at the time so I might have missd something. There were no games shown today or yesterday, I believe. I am loving Wimbledonn though. 2 nice come-from-behind matches. I had one myself the other night!

time is on my side All the games are on ESPN or ABC (times listed are eastern standard time)-by the way the TV ratings have been a smash over here in the US surpassing all expectations (a huge increase over 2002 sometimes as high as a 100% increase)- in addition to picking up the games on ESPN or ABC, you can also pick up the games on the Spanish channel Univision I think it's called (my wife ane children prefer that channel- say they have better more exciting announcers):

Dirty man! I meant tennis. Lost the first set badly, took the next two.

Soldatti I'm very anxious waiting the match tomorrow, BTW here in Argentina we have 5 main TV channels and 4 of them will show the match. The national rating (including cable) of the last game was 74/100 here, it will pass that mark tomorrow, maybe a 80-85/100 rating (in other words, the 85% of the country seeing the game).

time is on my side Thought Argentina had the game won but they gave up the goal in the 80th minute which proved to be the difference.

Germany looked like they couldn't miss during the penalty shootout while Argentina kicks looked weak by comparison.

I agree for most of the game Argentina looked like the better team.

Germany is going to be one tough team to beat playing at home & into the semifinals.

Edited for spelling
