Libby was convicted of perjury concerning who he told about Valerie Plame. He did NOT out her. He did NOT lie about any Iraq intel. No. The only person that lied about pre Iraq war intel was Joe Wilson. He did so in a NYT editorial that was laughable in the amount of bold faced lies that it presented. Libby lied about who discussed Plame's indentity with.

The thing is that the Special Perosecutor was assigned this case(and for this I blame the Bush Admin.) to find out who outed a "covert" CIA agent. Fitzgerald came right out and said that Plame was not a covert agent at the time, and that is where it should have ended, but no he was basking in the glory that the DLM had drenched him in. So he continued to investigate a case that had no crime. Then guess what happened? Scooter Libby may,I stress may, have lied about conversations to various press members, and Fitzy was off to the races. Two years, and over a million tax dollars later,he gets a conviction against a guy that did not out this non covert agent! So again, why does this matter?

Of course, that all could have been avoided if the "great American" had told the truth...but who's keeping score?

8th March 2007 02:50 PM
pdog Joe Wilson is the only person who lied about Intel regarding Iraq pre-war?

File Under WTF?

The Bush amdin, gave the CIA intel, then took that same Intel, and presented it as fact, which we later found out was false... That's beyond lying, that 's manipulation of Democracy!

That's like Me making up a story, giving it to a Chronicle writer, who prints the story, then I present that story as proof, citing the Chronicle has verified it...
CIA and The media was just vehicles used in the lies about WMD's.
Why be so cranky, you got the war, people got all blown up and dead, and now you can blame the situation we are in on the anti war people. It's brilliant, and in the end, no matter how people spin it, you can see through the spin, most people are idiots, but most idiots know bullshit.

Touche' my friend! My point though was not so much about either the Clinton case or the Libby case. It was about the fact that after the evidence of the Berger case have come out the media has done next to nothing to shed any light on the facts that this case revealed. Mainly that this guy stole original uncopied State documents, and then destroyed them before their contents could be reaveld to the 9/11 Commission!! Why has this not been shouted from the rooftops?! This guy got a fifty grand fine had to do some lame assed community service, and the ever so obediant DLM just dropped the story like it was meaningless. I can assure you that had it been the Bush Chief of Staff that did this the press would be on the story 24/7 until someone was under the jail,or impeached. That is hard to deny given the amount of press that the Libby trial got for a nothing conviction.

Well at least none of them were family, ever hear the stories about Neil Bush?
and i thought W was the stupid one...

Neil Bush, son of the then vice president of the United States, was scheduled to have dinner on March 31, 1981, with Scott Hinckley, brother of John Hinckley, the day after a bullet came within an inch of making Neil Bush's father the new president of the United States.

On the day that Neil Bush testified about his part in the Denver S&L scandal, Treasury Secretary Brady announced that the bailout would cost $59 billion more than previously announced. The press was forced to choose which was the bigger story and the majority went for the Brady announcement. White House spin doctors thereby succeeded in getting the Neil Bush story off the front pages of the Washington Post and New York Times; the Los Angeles Times, for example, didn't fall for it and ran the Neil story out front.

Neil Bush, younger brother of President Bush, detailed lucrative business deals and admitted to engaging in sex romps with women in Asia in a deposition taken in March as part of his divorce from now ex-wife Sharon Bush.

This is insane, and it is under oath... clinton lied b/c he was smart, this guy is an idiot and then brags about it, read on:
The Bush divorce, completed in April after 23 years of marriage, was prompted in part by Bush's relationship with another woman. He admitted in the deposition that he previously had sex with several other women while on trips to Thailand and Hong Kong at least five years ago.

The women, he said, simply knocked on the door of his hotel room, entered and had sex with him. He said he did not know if they were prostitutes because they never asked for money and he did not pay them.

"Mr. Bush, you have to admit it's a pretty remarkable thing for a man just to go to a hotel room door and open it and have a woman standing there and have sex with her," Brown said.

"It was very unusual," Bush said.
