sweetcharmedlife Stunning setlist. "The River" was superb in Belfast. He goes into this wailing falsetto at the end of it which will make the hair on the back of your arse stand up.

Good to see him dipping into the 'Tracks' boxed set. Thats a pretty outrageous choice of opening song!

And letting Nils sing the second verse of "Janey Dont You Lose Heart" (when was THAT last played? Holy crap!)- being the first Bruce song he ever played on - was a nice touch.

Yeah Gazza. He really should call it the "On any given night tour"....Because on any given night,he's liable to play fucking anything.

Left Shoe Shuffle Maybe a little 'Rendezvous' for the French Canadians tonight?
3rd March 2008 06:00 AM
PartyDoll MEG Nope no Rendezvous, Leftie!
From backstreets.com:

MARCH 2: O, CANADA!
"Bon soir, Montreal!" After Thursday night's Hartford show met with such raves, tonight in Quebec Bruce and the band proved that it wasn't just opening night adrenaline. For the leg's second show they once again came out full throttle, with an opening blast of "Night" before moving into "Radio Nowhere," and never let up. Fewer surprises, perhaps -- no debuts or Tracks material here -- but plenty of crowd-pleasers in the set. "Because the Night" (a North American tour premiere, at least) was met with a huge roar as Roy started the intro. And you gotta love a night when Bruce calls audibles of "Darkness" (replacing the setlisted "Working on the Highway") and "Jungleland" (in the "Bobby Jean"/"Thunder Road" slot), with another how-does-he-do-it stunner of a solo from Clarence.

During the opening strains of "Jungleland," Bruce shielded his eyes from the light as he looked back toward section 106, to acknowledge the fan with the sign calling for this one. And it was definitely a night when performer and crowd were in concert. A notably young pit crowd kept him fed with energy all night (he was happy to return the favor with autographs, even signing a Born to Run eight track tape during the show), and the whole place joined in a loud, ecstatic sing-along on "Waitin' on a Sunny Day." "Great audience," said the man. And another by-proxy greeting from the Phantom: "Danny sends his regards -- he says he's doing quite well."

4th March 2008 06:06 AM
PartyDoll MEG From Backstreets.com:

MARCH 3: HAMILTON, ONTARIO
The third show of the leg makes three nights running with a different opener -- tonight in Hamilton, it was "No Surrender." That was the only change from Montreal in a srtaightforward main set; in the encore, "Jungleland" was replaced by a crowd-pleasing two-pack of "Thunder Road" and "Kitty's Back."

Next: Back in the U.S.A. Thursday night in Rochester.

I can not wait for ' THE PIT ' :

" What's the deal with General Admission?
Most of us, understandably, would love to know what we're getting ourselves into before we buy a ticket. So we reached out to the tour powers-that-be, and while they're not ready to make an official statement just yet -- "our intent here is to have info from all the venues before we announce anything" -- we've got some informal comments to pass along that offer more insight into what to expect.
On the Rising tour, Springsteen concerts began regularly featuring a general admission floor (meaning the floor was standing-only, and unreserved), usually partitioned into a smaller G.A. section by the stage ("the pit") with a larger G.A. section behind it. Look for the same basic setup on this tour; seating charts from the individual venues typically show G.A. floors, with reserved seating in the rest of the arena.
Over the course of the Rising tour, the "rules" for the G.A. line (and specifically for entry into the pit) lacked consistency and organization, causing plenty of frustration. This time out, a tour source tells us that they are working to standardize the system as much as possible. "

Gazza Some much-rumoured and long-awaited news to make all Bruce fans lick their lips..

AN EXTENSION FOR E STREET RADIO; SPRINGSTEEN TALKS DARKNESS 30 AND MORE
New Marsh interview with Bruce on SIRIUS this week

First, some excellent news: SIRIUS Satellite Radio has just announced that it will continue its all-Springsteen E Street Radio channel through the end of May. And to help celebrate, Dave Marsh conducted a follow-up interview with Bruce during Asbury Park second-leg rehearsals last week, updating things since their last SIRIUS chat at the beginning of the Magic tour. This time, Bruce discusses the next leg of the tour, the songs on the album, and his thoughts on the presidential primaries. Fans can hear the interview Thursday, March 6, at 4 p.m., with encores Thursday at midnight; Friday, March 7, at 8 a.m., 4 p.m., and midnight; and Saturday, March 8, at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. (all times Eastern), on E Street Radio, SIRIUS channel 10.

Marsh premiered the complete, unedited recording of the interview, conducted in an echo-filled dressing room, this past weekend on his own "Kick Out the Jams" radio show, which now airs on SIRIUS' recently launched Sirius Disorder channel 70 on Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon. Of particular interest is Bruce's confirmation that he is exploring the Darkness on the Edge Of Town-era archives with an eye towards releasing a commemorative 30th anniversary set a la 2005's Born to Run set. Bruce only committed to the term "if," not "when"... but if all goes well, fans could be in for a real treat later this year.

SIRIUS is also giving away a pair of tickets to every date on the 2008 US tour, along with passes to the E Street Lounge where you can relax before the show. One lucky winner will also receive a Magic CD autographed by The Boss himself. To enter for your chance to win, go to sirius.com/estreetradio.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND
GENERAL ADMISSION PIT LINE

- On the day of the show, sequentially numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning at 2:00 PM at the gate. Wristbands will be distributed until 5:00 PM.

- A starting number will be randomly picked at 5:15 PM; this will be announced and displayed on a placard at the gate. No more wristbands will be distributed after 5:00 PM.

- 5:30 PM - All fans with GA tickets and a wristband should begin lining-up in numerical order, beginning with the announced number. The line will be escorted into the GA Pit Area in front of the stage approximately 10 minutes before the rest of the patrons are allowed to enter the venue.

- One wristband per patron and the patron must also be in possession of a GA ticket.

- A wristband and a GA ticket are required to enter the GA Pit Area in front of the stage.

- The starting number will be drawn randomly at 5:15 PM by a fan. The fan holding the wristband that matches the starting number drawn will be first in line (i.e. if #'s 1 - 100 were issued and number 10 was drawn, the line would start with 10, then 11, 12, 13 through 100 then 1-9). When the starting number is announced, the line will shift accordingly.

- The purpose of the random number distribution is to insure that all fans have the same chance of being first in line, eliminating the need to camp out. This policy also helps to insure customer safety and provides for an effective means of crowd control.

- Anyone who receives a numbered wristband between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM has a chance to be first in line to enter the Pit Area, but a wristband does not guarantee a place in the Pit Area.

- Wristbands will be issued and affixed to the patron’s wrist only after the patron's ticket has been verified a GA ticket.

NO WRISTBANDS WILL BE ISSUED AT THE GA PIT ENTRANCE
ON THE FLOOR WITHIN THE VENUE.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO PATRON, FAN, OR CLUB RUN LIST
WILL BE HONORED BY TOUR PERSONNEL, SECURITY OR BUILDING PERSONNEL!

The above procedures will be implemented and supervised
by touring personnel.
