Your odds are pretty good to finally get it!!

That song never fails to give me goosebumps and hearing it live also produced tears!

PartyDoll MEG Well Glenny..I am sure you missed this treat...

11th March 2008 07:30 AM
glencar Ah...well, I made it to Badlands. Great show, great energy but he REALLY needs to drop the politics. I don't need some millionaire talking incorrectly about rendition & "illegal" wiretaps etc. The crowd cheered a bit but not like I expected & there was vocal disagreement.

Anyway, She's The One, Radio Nowhere, Badlands, The Rising, Night & Incident were highlights for me. The only negatives were the politics & the moment when some poor woman was picked out of the audience to sing along. She had a horrid shriek & really hurt the song. I guess it depends on what night you're at & who gets picked!

Sad to see I missed Ramrod & Jungleland. There's no way I could have stuck around though. I left at 10:15 & had about a mile run to my SUV.

PS ADAM RAISED A CAIN - another highlight! I didn't have a wishlist but if I had, this would have been on it.

Since he isn't a nostalgia act..he does play his current album

Surely you aren't suggesting he is better live than our own beloved Stones!!!!???

Meggy....why???????? why??????????? why??????????

Why LJ!! I would never do that!!??!!

As you experienced it yourself, you know that Bruce is an entirely different rock'n roll band than our Stones. And yes, I do think the Stones have gotten lazy and have no interest in creating new and exciting material. That being said, I still love them.

Bruce DOES support his "new" albums on tour despite the cries for BITUSA(i.e.warhorse hits)!! The final count of Magic songs was 8 by the way!

He has always told stories and given his political opinion to some degree on stage. That is who he is. Each night he goes out there on stage with the intent of blowing you away. He hasn't gotten lazy.....

Stones and Bruce

Love 'em both (and several other musicians besides....)

Nellcote Admittedly, I never got the chance to see Springsteen
in the 70's. I understand these concerts are of legend, both for showmanship, duration. I have viewed several shows, on dvd, which would attest to that, being there in person is different, which may have the talk of who is greater performer different. Shows of the three plus hour variety, at any age are usually extrodinary. Takes a lot out a performer. This was Springsteen for many years. Two, three encores. The New Years Eve show @ Nassau back in the early 80's comes to mind. I have been witness to Stones concerts since '72. A thing of marvel, given the age of the band. I do find some aspects of the Stones live as "coasting", which in the times I've seen Springsteen, I've never felt that way. Given that, I stop short of one is greater than the other as the passion for the show by the performers is present in both situations. Line in the sand, I would say the Stones, as it is the Stones. Springsteen is so close, I do not look to judge...

I think I read somewhere, in the Rolling Stone review I think, that he held his microphone out to a young girl at the rail who had been singing loudly to every song-She obviously loves her Bruce

At first I thought Suzie was Patti with a bad dye job. Yes, I was far away. But no, I think that girl that Meg referred to is the one who hurt my ears. God bless her!

PartyDoll MEG Hmmmmmm.

"MORE RABBITS IN THE HAT
For a while now, we've been looking at just four U.S. concerts on Bruce's summer itinerary: three Giants Stadium shows in July, and a festival one month later. Wisdom, conventional and otherwise, suggested that more dates would surely fill in the second half of 2008, but now we've got more to point to.

The Boston Globe reports: "Don't be surprised if Bruce Springsteen announces plans to play Gillette Stadium this summer. The Boss, who kicked off the Fenway concert series a few years back, is hitting the road with the E Street Band but so far hasn't scheduled any Boston dates. Word is Bruce will play Gillette on Aug. 1 and 2..."

And from the mouth of Silvio... asked by the Kansas City Star if the tour would be continuing past July, Steve says: "As far as I've heard, we’ll be out through October. We'll probably hit Europe and then come back (to the U.S.). I haven't seen the schedule, but we're going to be out quite a bit for the rest of the year."

No new dates are official yet, but stay tuned."

PartyDoll MEG Hey Joeykins..if you want to let your RO friends know if you get lucky and get in the PIT, launch a PM my way.

Besides you may need words of encouragement/advice, as you wait in line to see if you get the up close and personal view of Bruce!

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND
GENERAL ADMISSION PIT LINE

- On the day of the show, sequentially numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning at 2:00 PM at the gate. Wristbands will be distributed until 5:00 PM.

- A starting number will be randomly picked at 5:15 PM; this will be announced and displayed on a placard at the gate. No more wristbands will be distributed after 5:00 PM.

- 5:30 PM - All fans with GA tickets and a wristband should begin lining-up in numerical order, beginning with the announced number. The line will be escorted into the GA Pit Area in front of the stage approximately 10 minutes before the rest of the patrons are allowed to enter the venue.

- One wristband per patron and the patron must also be in possession of a GA ticket.

- A wristband and a GA ticket are required to enter the GA Pit Area in front of the stage.

- The starting number will be drawn randomly at 5:15 PM by a fan. The fan holding the wristband that matches the starting number drawn will be first in line (i.e. if #'s 1 - 100 were issued and number 10 was drawn, the line would start with 10, then 11, 12, 13 through 100 then 1-9). When the starting number is announced, the line will shift accordingly.

- The purpose of the random number distribution is to insure that all fans have the same chance of being first in line, eliminating the need to camp out. This policy also helps to insure customer safety and provides for an effective means of crowd control.

- Anyone who receives a numbered wristband between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM has a chance to be first in line to enter the Pit Area, but a wristband does not guarantee a place in the Pit Area.

- Wristbands will be issued and affixed to the patron’s wrist only after the patron's ticket has been verified a GA ticket.

NO WRISTBANDS WILL BE ISSUED AT THE GA PIT ENTRANCE
ON THE FLOOR WITHIN THE VENUE.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO PATRON, FAN, OR CLUB RUN LIST
WILL BE HONORED BY TOUR PERSONNEL, SECURITY OR BUILDING PERSONNEL!

The above procedures will be implemented and supervised
by touring personnel.
