It will be good if he plays "Romance in Durango", at least it will be by far the closest venue to the place who inspired Bob and Jacques

Remember Durango Larry?

"Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid" was also filmed in Durango, so you might get "Knockin On heavens Door"! (He also recorded one of the songs from the soundtrack - "Billy 7" I think - in Mexico City). I think he's played "Romance in Durango" about once or twice since 1975 (he did it at one of the London theatre shows in November 2003)

great to hear he's doing a free show. I wonder why that is...as a way of compensating for the high ticket prices elsewhere, perhaps?

Well, Bob is getting paid, the fair producer and the local promoter are paying Dylan's management

A new Starbucks CD

Bob Dylan has compiled an album of his favourite music for Starbucks coffee chain.

Marketed under the slogan 'the music that matters to him', it is the third release in Starbuck's 'Artist's Choice' series and follows similar compilations by Joni Mitchell and Elvis Costello.

Available in Starbucks outlets from February 26, the tracklist reflects the broad tastes Dylan has shown in his Theme Time Radio Hour show, with a heavy bias towards the blues, country, jazz and r&b singers he heard on the radio while growing up in Minnesota.

Costello and Mitchell supplied track-by-track notes to their selections, explaining what the songs meant to them. It is not yet clear whether Dylan has written similar notes to accompany his choices.

Meanwhile, Ace Records is releasing a two CD set ''Theme Time Radio Hour
With Your Host Bob Dylan'', containing 50 tracks from the show. There have been several similar compilations - including Uncut's own ''Radio Bob'' CD in August 2007 - but the Ace collection is the first to be officially authorised by Dylan and is co-produced by his manager Jeff Rosen.

Here is the full track listing of Dylan's ''Artist's Choice''

1. Pee Wee Crayton - Do Unto Others
2. Clancy Eccles - Don't Brag, Don't Boast
3. Stanley Brothers with The Clinch Mountain Boys - The Fields Have Turned

That's the best thing he can do for Latin America, specially at those high prices

If you go to any of the shows of Dylan in Mexico and South America and you make the following questions in the VIP area, I’m sure around 1% will answer all

1.- Mention the name of five songs by Bob Dylan.
2.- Tell me the name of two albums by Bob Dylan.
3.- Say a short paragraph with Bob's lyrics.
4.- Sing a song by Bob Dylan.

99% will have no answer in the VIP area, but if you go to the cheap seats area they will mention many songs, all the discography and won’t say a paragraph, will sing a whole song and pass a joint to you as gesture of gratitude for asking.

Martha I got home last night. Took 2 days of driving to and from, but it was more than worth every mile. The seats in that balcony were the best I've ever had. We were on Bob's side each night and literally hovering above the stage about 40 feet away, the venue is so small. I could see every thing and I was in heaven. These were my 39th, 40th, and 41st shows. Night 2 (my 40th) was the best night of the 3, in my humble opinion. Bob was on fire and edgy that night, just like I like him to be. He danced like Fred Astaire with his piano.....I just LOVE when he does that.

The band was a bit rusty on night one, a few flubs like Bob opens Highway with the first line of Honest With Me, and then had to regroup. George and Tony were pretty amused by that. What is new and very exciting is Denny has been transformed. He now steps out plays like he hasn't played before and even throws out a kick and moves about a little. He was channeling Pagey and did multiple chords throughout his leads that were stunningly gorgeous. I love how Bob's band grabs each audience and takes them whether they want to go along or not. Bob is truly a master at capturing that energy.

Stu is renewed as well. He is engaged with the band and even literally got down along with smiled during some of the shows. Everyone was connecting. George even has color back in his face.

Bob was in very good spirits each night. He wore a cranberry red shirt and tie on night one, pure white on night 2 and silver on night three. He had neither of his diamond disco rings on but did sport a bandaid on his right middle finger.

I felt like I was right there on stage with them we were in such good seats. If I could see him from that vantage point I might never be able to stop. Nothing makes me feel like I feel when I am in his presence. And his tour bus was parked right on 1300 Broom Street. I went to it and stood there and thanked him. With Bob that's as close as I can hope to get. I don't mind that though.

I was so hoping these shows were videotaped. When the purple girl jumped out of the wings it was quite a shock. Bob loved it though. That's the second time we've seen someone jump on stage. The first time was at the unforgettable Louisville show that took place in a parking lot. Baron (Bob's body guard) was there that night as well. He came out and the guy dived off the stage into the crowd.

I am floating in the afterglow of 3 of the greatest shows I've ever had the good fortune of being at.

Okay, I need to go let my cat in and then check my email.....

love and peace to all,
Martha Melodylan

Riffhard Great review Martha! How I wish the Stones would start to give a shit about their new material the way Zimmy does. I'd imagine that if the mood ever struck they could put out a great late career album like Bob has been doing with every record since TOOM. To dream.

Can't wait to him on this tour!
