Wow! I've only read the last page of this thread so far & I'm already misty at all the sweet memories. Now Voodoo might be coming to AC? OWW! And Mary, Boomy & I actually did visit a Tower records in Chicago & I atoned for my past sins(it was yom kippur, right?) by buying 2 CD's whilst there. One was Willie & the Poor Boys & the other was Dylan & the Dead.
I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again in AC but as I said to our dear LJ, that one'll leave me with tears in me eyes as I know that'll be the last one. After seeing the shape Keith's in, it'll be a miracle if he makes Europe next year. I'm not counting on the Beacon although one never knows, do one?
Okay, then...te absolvo. I wish I'd gone to Tower with you guys. The spirit was willing, but unfortunately on Thursday I was moving in extra-slow motion and didn't even venture out till mid-afternoon. Looking forward to seeing you again in AC, where we will have another Bacchanalia, I'm sure!

What a terrific Summit! Fabulous pics. So sorry I missed seeing you all in my town, tipping a few with, and giving hugs to LJ, TomL, Nanky, Parmeda, PartyDollMEG, and the RO crew I haven't met yet. I didn't get to Grace O'Malley's, and couldn't make the Mines after that cold Chicago night (been under the weather since Louisville). My brother Peter (with your Steel Wheels van) said you RO'ers were great people! Of course we all knew that already. Glad you had a blast in Chicago. What's a little weather to the Stones and big-time Stones fans?
Hope to see some of you in Atlantic City. Rocks Off rocks!!
Please give Peter our very best and a big THANK YOU from all of us. He was a LIFESAVER. I don't even want to think about what it would have been like walking back to the hotel from Soldier Field in the biting cold. It made all the difference in the world just hopping into a heated, comfy van, with good tunes and the friendliest, coolest driver ever and being escorted to Grace O'Malley's, to and from the show, and then to Kingston Mines.
LJ is back home now but is without internet because of the snow storm they had up there, and she's asked me to convey her deepest gratitude to you and Peter. We couldn't have done it without him!
I look forward to meeting you in AC!

If Axl showed up with Izzy, it would be damn freaky!
I'm really hoping AC doesn't get the standard setlist, and get more of The boston Chi-town type setlist.
This show is creeping up quick as hell. |

jb has informed me that he is glad he did not attend, and fears the summit talks will be overdone. The pictures suggest this was a binge drinking experience and all recollections gathered from this event are to be questioned for accuracy due to the amount of alcohol consumed by our "Summitteers".
I am glad I had a chance to say hello at Graces, but am not jealous of the hangovers. We, like the stones, are not 28 anymore and must take care of ourselves! |
