Torre just turned down a $5 mil/1 yr deal w/incentives.

Torre was Showaltered!
He deserved better than that.
Give him the last year @ Yankee Stadium, with All Star Game, retire his number. His exudes class.
On the flip side, in true Steinbrenner fashion, he could come back for '09 in the new stadium!

Dude in left is much like Mr. Magoo, missing the crane as he's walking thru the construction site. No worries.
Dude is also 1st ballot hall of famer, studies video relentlessly, can throw out a runner at 2nd with his eyes closed.
Listen to the entire sound bite, the context of the statement makes much more sense of a loose thinking, not worried player. Media having their way once again.

Thank you Cleveland, for bringing out Josh Beckett's ex hottie girlfriend to sing the National Anthem, as you may have just woke up The Red Sox.
That was just the spahk which was needed.
So, put away that champagne, say goodbye to the midges, tell the guy in centerfield to put away the drum, neatly fold up your homah hankies. And I hope that couple in the front row with the Indian Headress did not commit the ultimate sacrifice....And, you can stop playing Cleveland Rocks anytime now.
Welcome back to Fenway Pahk!

All I gotta say is...Thank God Beckett won't be available....
This one is gonna go the distance..Cleveland hasn't thrown in all those towels yet...

Go Sox -- but hate to point out they've only managed to win against a sickly Sabbathia in this series.

I missed the game due to an all-important tennis match. Who sang the Anthem? And seriously, Beckett is the best this year. I still say Cleveland.
