Sir Stonesalot jb, you wouldn't want me anywhere near your office.

Why???

Because I'd be fucking your secretary instead of YOU fucking her. I'd probably be fucking your wife too!

But you'd still like me.

Why???

Because I'm cool. And you would be hoping to get cool by osmosis.

Word up.

First of all SS I resent the implication that if I vote Republican that I am some how affiliated with Nazis.

The fact is that Grey Davis did in fact ruin California's economy. His policies brought their economy to it's knees. The dot com boon pumped billions into the California economy. What did Davis do? He increased spending by a whopping 40% in the course of two years! Then when the dot com boon went bust the tax payers of California were left holding the bag. His brilliant plan for the deregulation of power supliers not only cost California millions upon millions more but left thousands without power for days at a time. It also caused brownouts over the course of months.

I know many dems, whom I consider friends in California, everyone of them to a man and woman, wants Davis out. If this is such a "vast rightwing conspiracy" then why have almost half of all California's registered democrats decided to go ahead with the recall and throw this dolt out of office?

It is the state law in California for the voters to decide their own fate with regards to governership. Today they are making that choice.

Riffhard

PS-For the record I have no horse in this race as I don't live in Cali, but if I did I'd vote for McClintock.

Sir Stonesalot >First of all SS I resent the implication that if I vote Republican that I am some how affiliated with Nazis.<

Boo hoo. Then maybe you should talk to the Republican leadership into toning some of that ultra-right shit down.

Regardless if you want to admit it or not, the Republican Party is using some of the very same tactics that Hitler used to come to power. Hitler used the Weimar Constitution and a vast propaganda machine to legally come to power in Germany. In fact Hitler was obsessed by observing strict legality. I have a book about Hitler...it's really long, but fascinating. I'll send it to you if you like. After reading that book, if you can't see similarities between Hitler's Nazi Party, and the modern Republican Party, then you are blind, or simply do not want to see. Honestly, aside from the racial cleansing thing, the political platforms of the two parties could be interchanged!

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, but sometimes the truth hurts.

What "vast propaganda machine" did the Republicans use?
The left-wing media? Last I checked they put out a platform and ran on it, just as Al Gore did?

"In fact Hitler was obsessed by observing strict legality."

What does that mean? That he upheld the law? I thought your position was that W came to power illegally by stealing the election!

"I have a book about Hitler...it's really long, but fascinating. I'll send it to you if you like. Riffhard Oh come on now Sir Stonesalot! That is an absolute ridiculous argument! To eqate a political party from democratic/representative country to that of a totalitarian dictatorship is absurd!

I mean shit man I could make the same argument about democrats and their slant toward communism. To what end? To reinforce a negative/false image. Repulicans are no more Nazi/Hitler like than Democrats are Communist/Stalin like!

I mean it "takes a village" right? Sounds like communist propaganda to me?!

By the way I am not a registered Republican. I have however, seen the errors of my ways for voting Democrat in my own state of New Jersey. The only reason I vote more Republican than Democrat is because of the Democrats themselves. I didn't leave them. They left me.

Now sirmoonine the last thing I want to do is get in a political pissing match here, but Arnold is FAR FROM A NAZI! Even the the guy that directed Pumping Iron said he is shocked at how the liberal media has taken his quote completely out of context. Not only did they take it out of context but, they deleated half of the paragraph. He (Arnold) went on to say that he thought that Hitler was great at captivating an audience like JFK was but that he used his charisma for all the wrong reasons.

Arnold has donated more money to the Simon Weisanthal Center than any other major Hollywood heavywieght, and has done for years now. Ask them if Arnold's an anti-semite.

What? The entire quote has been printed many times. There is plenty that hasn't yet been printed is my guess.

Mr. Schwarzenegger came here, having been raised a Nazi by his die-hard Nazi father, got goon-whacked on illegal steroids and posing for other men in his underwear, was asked who he admired and the first thing out of his NAZI ass mouth was "Adolf Hitler because he essentially did the same thing I want to do." Its the latter day equivalent of saying "I admire Saddam Hussein because he came outta nowhere to threaten the whole Western world" - the only difference being no one apparently cares about Nazis anymore because they are old news.

To this day, Mr. Schwarzenegger hangs out with Kurt Waldheim.

Liberal media for chrissakes...its his own friggin' words and actions. I read it on Drudge the first time. I'm glad someone reported that which everyone suspected anyway.

I could care less what image cleansing he's done since that time. All that means is he's not a diehard Nazi, rather he's a guy who wants to make it big in Hollywood and cut his baggage. I notice no one has ever proved up all these donations yet. My guess is they aren't the millions the liberal media claims they are and most are of very recent vintage.

Its a disgrace to all who fought for this country, fought for a whole BUNCH of countries, for this clown to be where he is.

You left the Dems Riffie, I left the Republicans and this pathetic display is exactly why. I've read about two candidates in this "election" - Tom McClintock and Mr. Schwarzenegger. Take a friggin guess which one is actually a conservative, and an intelliegent, articulate, CONSISTENT one at that. Sadly, that makes him an extremely rare breed these days. The California GOP made a decision - we can support our best candidate and be true to our values, or we can pander to a bunch of hammering, stammering, driving idiots who would vote for Bugs Bunny if we decided to pimp him. Did they choose wisely? Maybe they did in terms of short-term power, but I can't understand why anyone with a brain would want to join in this retarded cluster fuck of a campaign.
10-07-03 06:35 PM
Sir Stonesalot Perhaps I am seeing demons BECAUSE THEY ARE DEMONS!

Look, this isn't really the place to talk about this, just remember that the Nazi Party was born in a "Republic", NOT in a totalitarian dictatorship. It BECAME a dictatorship, but it was born in democracy.

And YES Nanky, the Republicans employ some of the greatest spinmeisters(also known as truthtwisters) since Goebbles. I suppose you buy that Fox News "fair and balanced" bullshit. They lean so far to the right that the right side of my body goes numb just watching it. How about Rush Limbaugh? Is he liberal left media? The conservative right has just as many media outlets as the liberal left.

Here is my MAJOR complaint about the media. They should not be left or right...they should just report the facts. Fuck spin(both the truthtwisting AND the magazine). Just put it in plain English and let US decide for ourselves! Why is that so much to ask?

As for Bush Jr stealing the election...he did steal it, and he stole it legally. Just because you go "by the letter of the law" does not make something morally correct.

I have a further explanation, but it is too long for this forum. Just get this book, Hitler: A Study In Tyranny by Alan Bullock. You can read for yourself how Hitler and the Nazi Party twisted and misused laws for political gain. They used the Constitution to abolish the Constitution! Not our Constitution...the Weimar Constitution.

You will also see that I am not stretching anything by comparing the Nazi Party tactics to those employed by the Republicans.

Oh, and just to be fair, the Democommies can be just as bad as the fuckin' Bolsheveks(sp?).

And also to be fair, I don't think either one of the major political parties in the USA has committed any political assasinations, or has any will to commit any ethnic cleansing.

10-08-03 07:39 AM
nankerphelge Stoney, I think your characterizations of the Republican party is just stereotypical BS. You made two initial points to say they resemble the Nazis -- that they used a vast propaganda machine and that they were strict legalists. I don't disagree that conservatives have news outlets. That is not the point. As you said, both sides have people to spin things. Neither side "controls" the media and people can and should get their news from multiple sources for true balance. To say that the Republicans use a vast propaganda machine ignores the reality of today's privately owned media that covers all sides of most issues.

As for the "strict legalist" point -- I still don't know what you mean by that. You seem to want black and white when it comes to the reporting of facts by the media -- yet you take issue with a "strict legalist" view that tries to look at the law in terms of absolutes. I just don't understand what your position is on this point for saying that Republicans are Nazis.

I know the head of the RNC personally. I can tell you that he and his family are not demons by any stretch of the imagination, nor are most of the people that I know that support the Republican party. Most of them are people that share certain beliefs about the role of government -- no different than any other political party. Sure they spin things and sure they try and use the process to advance their causes. But as long as "spin" is advocacy of a certain viewpoint (and not lying), it is part of the process. And as long as use of the process to advance a cause is not abuse of the process to advance a cause, it is part of the process. There will always be those that step over lines, and whether right or left, they are and should be held accountable.

Sir Stonesalot >as long as use of the process to advance a cause is not abuse of the process to advance a cause, it is part of the process.<

To understand where I am coming from, you really gotta read the book that I mentioned. The Nazi Party was not always a bunch of genocidal maniacs. They started out as a grass roots movement to abolish the Treaty of Versialle(sp?). I can't write a full explanation of Hitler's policy of legality here. I don't really think anyone besides us is all that interested, and I don't have the time to devote to a lengthy essay. Go to the library and get the book. It explains his policy in detail, and it is not unlike things that our political parties do here in the States.

It is my contention that the Republican Party, and our President specifically, is indeed willfully taking advantage of certain "rules", and using them in ways in which they were not intended, if indeed not just outright disregarding them entirely. And I'm not even including basic unwritten laws of dignity. Integrity and morality are cuss words in today's political climate.

I am sick and tired of "dirty politics" nanky. I am sick to death of all the negativity. Like I said before, both sides are dirty...ain't nobody clean.

Can you tell me why candidates never say..."Vote for me because....". It is always, "Don't vote for my opponent because...". Gray Davis was a shitty Gov. But how does anyone know Arnold is going to be any better??? He never said anything except vague generalities. He says things like, "I will fight to reduce unemployment by creating jobs." Yeah, that's great....but how is he going to create jobs? Todays politicians are great at saying things without actually SAYING anything. So was the leadership of the Nazi Party.

I am well aware of what a political party is Nanky. And right now it seems to me that the current ethos of the major parties...especially by Republicans, is almost like a religion. Yeah, an evangelical religion. They holds tent revivals called "fund raisers". Instead of a collection plate, you pay $1000.00 a plate for some stuffed chicken breast. Instead of a fanatical preacher, you have a fanatical "guest speaker". You call it "like-minded people" trying to make the country better by getting your policies adopted. I call it shoving an ideology down our throats. It has nothing to do with making the country a better place...it is all about getting power, and keeping the other guy from getting any power. Again, that sounds an awful lot like the Nazi Party to me.

It is my contention that the Republican Party is more concerned with consolidating it's own power, than in doing what is right for the people...ALL of the people. Republicans just assume that what THEY think is absolutely correct, and that their policies should be adopted...by whatever political means necessary.

I'd also like to speak at Stonesthrow for a second. Print media is a joke in this country. My local paper is...well, I'm complimenting it just by considering it a newspaper. I think the importance, and influence of print media has dropped considerably in this country. Americans are generally lazy. Why read when you can just turn on the TV or radio to get your news? And as the tv news agencies vie for viewership, they will stoop to "spicing" the story up. Yellow Journalism may have started in print media in Teddy Roosevelt's time....but today's news networks are perfecting it.

Now, go ahead, have the last word...my point is made...politics sucks, and government today has very little to do with the common man. If you don't like me comparing the Republican Party to the Nazi party, and you don't care to read the book that explains why I would come to that conclusion...so be it. But it is my opinion, it is valid, and until the Republican Party does something to change my mind, that is the way it stays.
10-08-03 06:57 PM
nankerphelge I hear ya -- don't agree with much of it of course, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
10-08-03 07:33 PM
Sir Stonesalot Hey Nank...we are C-10. As far as I'm concerned, the only party the C-10 is affiliated with is the The Rock n Roll Party. Drink, Eat, Smoke, Rock, Live(Not necessarily in that order!).

THAT is what is REALLY important.
