Monkey Woman And a good thing too! Now maybe there's a little more hope for Iraq.
12-14-03 07:26 AM
Pattie
I wonder how they found him..
12-14-03 07:32 AM
stewed & Keefed They found him hiding in a hole
12-14-03 07:35 AM
Pattie
Yes I know, but how did they find out which hole...and how did they know where to dig
12-14-03 07:38 AM
Monkey Woman They had help from the locals, obviously. It's been reported that Kurd militians were there at the time of the capture.
12-14-03 07:44 AM
Pattie
ahhh I see
12-14-03 07:45 AM
Pattie
how old is he? isn't he like Mick's age? looks older, but then everybody looks older than Mick that age!!!
12-14-03 09:17 AM
glencar This is great news! Let's hope that Osama is found in his hole soon. Mick & Keith should write a song about this. One of the world's most despised & feared dictators found in a spider hole on a Saturday night.
12-14-03 09:32 AM
Pattie
sounds good! a cool bluesy type song with lots of Harmonica!!
12-14-03 09:36 AM
glencar There could be a lot of poetry in this one!
12-14-03 09:38 AM
Riffhard A great day that will only become more historic as the days go by! Now we will see things begin to really settle down over there now. I say hand him over to the Iraqi people and let's see how their justice deals with this tyrant!

This is reason enough for another Stones tour!!!

Riffhard

glencar It was nice to see the Iraqi people cheering in the streets. A hated dictator is gone & captured. It'd be interesting to hear from certain posters too...
12-14-03 09:58 AM
marcus aurelianus Saddan Hussein has been captured ?

So , there is no reason why Americans should stay in Iracq, is there ? As the Americans have no interests there , have they ?
So Iraq is from now on a free country , free to choose his own government , free to choose his own laws ,free to use his own energy sources , free to use and exploit his own oil .
Free to have his own geopolitical strategy .
Free not to choose the "American Way of Life".
In a word , Iraq is now a Sovereign country !!!!!!!!!!!

I feel relieved now . Like Glencar .

REJOICE !!!! REJOICE !!!! REJOICE !!!!!
12-14-03 09:59 AM
glencar I see you as a fuckin' political commentator. One might even call me psychic...
12-14-03 10:01 AM
glencar Now all we have to do is capture Chirac & Villepain in their spider hole.
12-14-03 10:02 AM
nankerphelge Went from shooting shotguns off the balconies of his elaborate palaces and cuban cigars to living in a lice-filled hole and traveling in an old taxi.

Wonder went through his pea-head as he laid there in his holes driving from one house to the next with his 3/4 of a million U.S. Dollars looking for refuge!!!

(Most Iraqi farmers don't take American Express)

I don't know who should try him -- I suppose the Iraqi people, although I think a U.S. military trial would certainly have its advocates.

I think his punishment ought to be handed over to the Iraqis. I'm sure some of the Iraqi people whose family members were either gassed, buried alive in mass graves, forced to watch the rape and torture of their own family members, or run through giant plastic shredding machines would love the opportunity to suggest his punishment. Death does seem to easy for him.
12-14-03 10:05 AM
glencar The Iraqis set up some sort of War Crimes Court the other day so I'd guess that'll be the venue for Saddam.
12-14-03 10:10 AM
marcus aurelianus I do think Saddam should be tried by the Americans . Or an International Trial under American influence .
Glencar : we are going to know where the Mass destruction Weapons are hidden or concealed . I'll be fully happy then .It is high time we knew !
I have a dream : no more dictators anywhere on Earth .
The End of History . Francis Fukuyama will certainly agree with me .
12-14-03 10:11 AM
Some Guy Can someone post that Nolte looking capture photo. Got ya ass hole!!!
12-14-03 10:21 AM
Steel Wheels This evil asshole should be put before every family member of those he killed while in power. Let them have their way.
Nothing wrong with a violent end to a violent dictator.

Let's send some rock and roll, blue jeans, and Playboy to the Iraqi people.
12-14-03 10:29 AM
LadyJane Here you go!

12-14-03 10:32 AM
glencar Marcus, today is a great day. The French are cheering, right?
12-14-03 10:40 AM
Some Guy AHH HAA!! Bush will be unbeatable in 04. Osama is next
Thanks for posting that picture LJ, damn I need a shower!

marcus aurelianus Saddam Hussein is one of the worst dictators ever,Glencar.

Who could support such an evil man ?

But you know better than me (at least I hope) , that what matters is not Mr Hussein's fate or future , but the future of Iraq and the Middle-East . This is where we won't agree any more .

Steels Wheels would like to spread Rock'n'roll, Playboy and blue jeans to iraq . This is an absolute caricature . And he has forgotten hamburgers and chips ! And pop corn !!
There is not ONE man on Earth but Diversity . Let's hpoe diversity will remain . But I am very pessimistic .
12-14-03 10:49 AM
glencar Diversity for diversity's sake? Let me guess: you absolutely love political correctness. Among the politically correct set in this country brie & French wine hold sway. But Iraq isn't ready for that. Baby steps, Marcus. Rock & roll should be held back.

My pleasure, Some Guy!

I think this one beats Glen Campbell and even our beloved Nick Nolte!!

glencar

He looks like a homeless bum.

marcus aurelianus Glencar , can't you see that Globalisation brings its contrary : identitary tensions .
Isn't it the Ameriacan thinker Samuel Barber who wrote that ? The title was Jihad versus Mac World .An exellent title .
Coincidence of the opposites .
Do you really think that all the trouble will stop now that saddam has been arrested ? It will go onand on .These people don't have a Western mentality , Glencar .This is what I don't understand when I speak to American people : they all imagine the whole world think ( or should think) as they do.Or adopt their way of thinking .
this is not a reaon of course to stand by Saddam or his epigones .But you haven't answered my 1st question : what are the interests of the Americans ?
