Bitch

Now for some more wine, for the number of song whiners! The more songs the better IMO. ABB opened up with 23 in Boston, the low number was 18 in China (as a punishment for the censorship), then 20 was the standard for a while, but 19 seems to be the new standard.

Now why would you hope for that? I think it sucks & I wouldn't wish it on you guys.

true, but maybe you get more consistency and quality with smaller sets- after all, quantity doesn't always = quality!

Good point, and it could be a sign that the RS are winding down towards the end of the Euro leg. I read where Ronnie said the tour for them, especially Charlie, is getting tiring with all the traveling. Its understandable, really. They have been on the road for over a year, the opening in Boston was August 21, 2005. Thats a long time, even with the coconut KEEF break.

well..the only people "punished" in China were the audience. It wasnt them who decided to censor five songs. Mick said at the press conference they would replace them with others, but they didnt bother in the end.

Thanks to Denis and Adrian for the updates when I was out. Seems the first part of the show has lost one song (8 before the intros, instead of the usual 9) so that they can add another warhorse later on. Too bad to hear the sound isnt too good. Hopefully its Ok in other parts of the stadium.

Bitch Actually they started out in Boston with 22 songs, not 23. I thought there were 23 but I guess not, sorry for the mistake. Here's the first night of ABB setlist

Start Me Up,
You Got me Rocking,
Shattered,
Tumblin' Dice,
Rough Justice,
Back Of My Hand,
Beast Of Burden,
She's So Cold,
Heartbreaker,
Night Time Is The Right Time,
The Worst,
Infamy,
Miss you,
On No Not You Again,
Satisfaction,
Honky Tonk Woman,
Out Of Control,
Sympathy,
JJ Flash,
Brown Sugar,
You Can't Always Get What You Want,
Its Only Rock And Roll

Gazza Show over - many thanks again, Denis, for holding the fort and to Adrian of course
29th August 2006 05:27 PM
MadMax They closed the roof that may be why they get echo and poor sound.
29th August 2006 05:29 PM
Saint Sway doesnt matter if if they play 18, 19 or 20 songs. It still NEVER changes the fact that they always stick you with Satisfaction, JJF, IORR, BS, MU, SMU, TD, HTW, SFTD, YCAGWYW.

can they give at least one of those songs an occassional night off???

Mercy! Mercy!

PLEASE!!!! DIFTK!!!
29th August 2006 05:29 PM
Gazza They did? I suppose it was pissing down tonight. It was fairly chucking it down over here

Personally, I'd rather be wet and hear the show than dry and hear a wall of mud.

I seem to remember numerous complaints about how unadventurous that setlist was at the time - with all of the old songs but "Shes so cold" having been played ad nauseam on the most recent tours.

yeah, well, I guess some people are never happy
29th August 2006 06:30 PM
glencar I thought people were happy with the first Boston set list. The disappointment came when they did essentially the same set 2 days later.
29th August 2006 06:59 PM
Gazza LOL..yeah that was it. They changed one song!

Stray Cat UK I decided to go at the spur of the moment on a round trip of 500 miles.

My car was broken ,so had to borrow one,but made it to the Stadium about 8.20pm !

Scored a lower tier front for almost half price about 2 mins before they came on. They where playing JJF as I came through the turnstile ! (talk about cutting it fine).

Highlights;

Rambler
Start Me UP ! - it got my section on their feet for rest of show.
ONNYA - 1st time for me
T.DICE

KEITH got lost during Slipping away.
Keith fucked up Live with Me solo after nailing it on Sunday (no that was Bitch !)
The Echo was pretty bad and I think you are right about the roof Gazza. I think it would have been dreadful in the upper tiers.

All in all a solid show with some mistakes and Amsterdam sound.Glad I made the trip. off to bed now !

danielharris627 It was awesome! My first stones gig. Yeah the sound was really echoey. It was worse for the Kooks though, terrible sound. A bit better for the stones. An ok setlist, not the best though, I am glad they played Paint It Black, disappointed there was no Ruby Tuesday. I got some good videos and a few pictures, some videos of when the stones were on the second stage and I went towards them and was a matter of feet away from them. Fair play to the security - they didn't mind people going to the end of the b stage, after that they just let people go in the aisle and I got to around the 3rd row and then 1st row at the very end.(was originally 12th row) So yeah, before the concert people said that it was the best concert they've ever been to and totally worth the money, I didn't think it was true but hell it was. It was definately the best concert ive ever been to/will ever go to and was easily worth the money - not one moment was I thinking pff I spent 150 on this. You really have to have been there to see that it is worth the money, totally amazing.

Agreed. I really think someday Mick will look back on these
shiny cut-away jackets with regret. Humiliating.

Where was alice cooper sitting? My friend saw him but I didn't know what she meant when she explained where he was sitting to me.
