Kilroy #1 The Beatles
#2 The Stones
#3 Jerry Lee Lewis
#4 Elvis
#5 Beach Boys
#6 Little Richard
#7 Bob Dylan
#8 Creedence Clearwater Revial
#9 The Who
#10 Frank Zappa
I have to say in my defense since "The Beatles" have not really (not counting "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love") recorded together since 1970, my #1 by default would have to be The Stones. You see I've had this problem all my life Beatles vs Stones, Stones vs Beatles. My College roomate was a Stones Fan, and I was a Beatles Fan. Than The Band I was in, The Bass Player was a Stones Fan and I was a Beatles Fan. I was always by default a Beatles Fan. I stand today and say The Stones are the greatest Rock n Roll Band to every take the Stage bar none. The Stones Are #1
All these #s have changed from time to time , except #1 and #2, They've been #1 and #2 for 40 some years.
I'm comtemplating moving The Stones to #1 after seeing them this past October. What a night, what a band . I really like the Bigger Bang Cd
I like the concert and cd so much I found this site and have loved reading and reponding to the many topics displayed and opened for discussion here.. I really like this site and respect the work done by the administrators Esp Gazza. *#@) Gazza. See I can almost write it it.
Will I be able to stay on this Forrum, I've at least been honest. I'll even admit on Macca birthday I posted a thread about the # 7 wuss of all time. Can I stay, I really like it here. Exile on Main Street is my # 2 Album of all time..............Right behind, oh well that does matter. Can I stay, I promise
not to mention John Paul George and Ringo to much. Can I talk about Elvis how about JERRY LEE LEWIS. If I can't talk about JERRY LEE, I'll Great balls of Fire .....................At Leaast It's not The Eagles....................You got to be kidding right? Ain't this what we are fighting for?

Agreed.

He keeps the Board alive when it is dryer than Phyllis Diller's cha cha.

We owe him so much.

Jumacfly Stones number one for me, but sometimes The New Barbarians are my favorite.
and I don t talk about Matt Clifford of course.

jb As reflected, some people do like other bands more than the Stones ...I am not judging anyone. This was simply a way to find out the %'s of diehards. I received a total of 59 PM's as of today, with 39 having Stones #1 , 13 Beatles, 4 U2, and 1 tie. Thus,a very unscientific poll shows about 66% like the Stones the best.

What gets me is that I have been accused of personal attacks /bullying...I can't remember when I ever personally attacked someone of bullied someone. I treated all people great. In contrast, over the years I have received numerous threats, been called pretty much any name in the book, and even threatened ..I could and should have taken action, but beinbg cyber-space, ignored it.
This poll is not to upset anyone, but to simply gauge howe many on a Stones site think they are #1. It appears to me a majority do-but far from 100%.

I'd happily denounce them... along with Queen and U2.

THat said, while Stones are -definitely- my fave band, I think the whole bloated 'genre' of "classic rock" that they are unfortunately thrown in sucks and hangs like a cloak of doom over any other, newer music. God forbid most people take their heads out of their asses and listen to something more recent.

Monkeytonk-man I like the way some people can equate the amount of money spent on a concert ticket can directly correlate to how much of a fan you are.

Some of the guys that post here are just too funny. really crack me up, I like the way you are satirising the all to apparent commercial capitalism demonstrated by the Stones organisation.

I assume you are joking? I hope you are joking, you are aren't you?

To be loyal these days is to be taken for a sucker. I listen to lots of bands obsessively but I am loyal to no one.

No one should ever be judged on their financial circumstances as many of us are blessed and others less fortunate. However, assuming you are dealing with the average Stones fan in the USA (b/t 38-58), with a mean income of 200k, it is not unreasonable to expect one to pay $450 for a ticket, is it???
