at the weekend, I found a CD on Soulseek listed as 'Bigger Bang Early Mixes'
Anyone else come across this yet? I downloaded it and gave it a quick listen and it seems to be the real deal. My ears arent as finely tuned as some others in order to tell the difference in some versions, but while the takes on the 'early mixes' are the same, some appear to be longer, have slightly different solos or have extra bits of vocals from Mick which were later mixed out, with 'Dangerous beauty', 'Let me down slow', 'It wont take long' and 'Biggest mistake' being noticeably different.
Most of the ABB songs are on it, with the exception of Rough Justice, Look what the cat dragged In, Laugh I nearly Died and Infamy. Some tracks appear a couple of times ('I Dont Wanna Go Home' appears three times)
Just wondered if anyone has a lossless version of it that they could upload here.

A simple search for some of the song titles should show some people as having it on a file listed Bigger Bang Early Mixes
If you get into soulseek, add my username - Gazza63, and browse my files.
You can then download it from my shared folder when I'm online.

The 4Reels DVD-9 upgrade of the July 11, 1975 LA show is better than Ganga's LA Blues in my opinion...it says Definitive Master Edition on the front artwork but its still down a generation or two from the master! Five years ago the best version I had ever seen of this show looked like it was filmed through a shower door...we've come a LONG way since then! |

I'm listening to the first song right now and without being used to ABB that much the differences are evident - STUNNING !!

Absolutely. And yeah, the more I listen to them, the more differences in the mix I can make out.
Agree with Nasalwizard re: Biggest Mistake.
Now, if only we can find a lossless version of these - but still, this will do very nicely for now.

I havent compared the timings yet but Potted Lobster on IORR reckons that "Don't wanna go home, Under the radar,It won't take long, She saw me coming, Biggest Mistake, Dangerous Beauty and Driving to Fast are all about 30 seconds longer then the released versions!"
Streets of Love certainly sounds a bit more beefed up than the released version, with the guitars a bit higher in the mix. Several songs have little lyrical adlibs and asides edited out for the released versions, and there are final endings or longer outros to some songs than the versions we're familiar with.

I havn't downloaded all of them yet, but the guitar solo doesn't start right away like it normally does in the released version. There's a slide where the solo should start and then they play the riff and go into the solo. There's also more ad lib at the end |
