With a business upgrade, my own row and a really cool flight crew. The bouncing out of Philly at 7 AM was a bit scarey. I hit the ground at about 10 AM in SF, walked out the terminal, into my car and was home in 10 minutes.

Playing blackjack with you last night was really fun. It was also really hard to leave you guys, even if it was 3 AM.
I would definitely find the time to meet up with you guys in AC anytime, grab some food, a small show and fuck around on the tables. We do it when the weathers good... Shit, we're Gold!
28th October 2006 10:57 PM
glencar i'll be there!
28th October 2006 11:09 PM
JesusMe youd think at 65 years old they'd be passed that lying stage and would be mature enough not to fuck people over like this,, there of course is the chance Mick really did have a sore throat and was advised by his doctors to not sing,,, and that show on the 17th is not going to happen with LA the next day

It was so great to meet you, pdog. I'm really glad you came to AC!

Steel Wheels I'm doing better than I wa$ earlier, but reading that Jagger is rehear$ing for the Beacon is bull$hit.

More bull$hit is my 500 dollar ticket, and my 100 dollar member$hip. For thi$ money $ir Mick had better call me and apologize, $ing Happy Birthday, mail me a birthday card, and have Cohl Inc. give me a few tour $hirt$. Thank$, $ir Mick.

Mr Rock and Roll Keith can have a daughter (over the age of 18) $uck me off eagerly with a warm and wet mouth.

drbryant My understanding is that for tours of this type, you generally do not carry insurance to cover cancellations "so that we can make more money on another show'. But, if you're ill that day . . . . .

LadyJane Man this thread is making me sick all over again.

Printing my damned boarding pass.

Steel Wheels.....the 90 minute sobbing (and throwing things around her room) of LJ on Friday wasn't just for herself. First three people I thought of:

Steel Wheels...his b/d celebration is ruined.
jaggergrrl...my dear friend has brought her children to see HER band.
Pdog....my friend....all the way from California.

I don't believe Jagger was here in AC.

I feel like this whole tour since Keith's injury is the "Bend over and grab your ankles fans" Tour.

I am seriously considering NOT returning. But I know I will. I don't have your money....BOYS!!!

Jagger....you pissed me off You and your fucking movie career. Think the DVD will score an Oscar?

Cohl...you fucking Bastard!!!

So many sad faces....so many stories of people who traveled long distances for this event. 5 hours before the show you cancel. Fuck you.

It really IS all about the money isn't it??? Well my well has run dry.

New Tee shirt...."Where the Fuck Is Mick Jagger???"

Glad I got to see my wonderful friends though. We made the best of it. Missed seeing many people as I was too wasted to leave the Shidoobee party to come to House of Blues. Staggered to the hotel at midnight....passed out....no food all day...who could eat. Just drinks.

SV...you are a great party companion. Mr SV...a doll. Hell when the entire bar was singing "Sweet Virginia"...I felt good.

Mattman, you crazy buffalo fan.
Jumping Jack..so nice to meet you. Another Buffalo native.
Always great to see scope and Pdog.

Had fun yesterday with the Chiba Twins and company. Strolled the boardwalk/ate and drank. Found a nice Martini Bar in the hotel with a 70's Philly Sound band that brought back memories of Soul Train. Fun.

Special thanks to GotToRollMe for trying her best to console me.

Also thanks to JB, Gazza, Martha, MEG and Parmeda for the encouraging voicemails and texts.

Thanks Glencar for the ride from Philly.

Great meeting chevysales and Bitch as well.

And a word to those posters who seem to have a problem with summitting and take pleasure in our misfortune. Stop being so damned bitter and try getting your asses to one of these things. Don't knock it if you haven't done it in a few years or ever.

LJ.
Very very disillusioned with the Stones.

VERY VERY grateful for the true Friends she has found here!!!

Steel Wheels LJ - I must have your cell #! You were the first person I thought of, along with Pdog.

This morning I'm very hurt by the actions of this band that I ADORE. Charlie is just as guilty too. Mick is HIS singer, right?

My days of dropping 500 dollars for a seat are over, as are renewing my fan club membership. As far as I'm concerned the fan club should send me a free Beacon ticket...

Why the fuck did I drop 500 clams on AC and Beacon tickets are like 40-50 bucks?

If the Beacon can be 40 bucks, I WANT A 40 BUCKS TOUR. Every seat, every show, 40 bucks a head.

Oh, and to get some tickets they want me to write a cock sucking essay? Mother fucker, how big does the ego get? I WRITE A MOTHERFUCKING ESSAY ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE YOU GUYS ON THIS BOARD DAILY.

DAILY!

Everyone on Rocksoff.org knows I'm mentally ill over my LOVE for the Rolling Stones.

$ir Mick, thanks for nothing.
Keith, watch your head and remember you work for Mick.
Charlie, thanks for standing up to Mick...in the 80's. Once.
Ronnie, good luck with the paint brush, pal.

And Michael Cohl, so help me God, if I ever see you again in public, I will crucify you, you son of a bitch. I hate you with such a passion on this cold Sunday morning.

29th October 2006 09:24 AM
gimmekeef Stones have been a corporation a long time now...The bottom line drives every decision.Sometimes we just get caught in the crossfire hurricane.....Just like the people that sent in those pics for Beacon. You dont think they couldnt have accomodated them all?..
29th October 2006 09:27 AM
glencar Very well-written post, LJ. I'm not as angry as you and it makes me wonder why. I take too much of what they do in stride but a cancellation on the afternoon of the show is as low as it gets. I'm leaving for the Beacon in a few hours & I'm sure they'll put on a helluva show but going back to AC won't be as fun as it was the other day. Thanks for all your help co-ordinating hotel stays next time around.

Oh, it can get lower. Interesting post made by a guy on IORR (landover81) who was shown an e-mail at 11 am received by Bally's that the show had been postponed to November 17th. They even had the new date by then!

http://www.iorr.org/talk/read.php?1,562933,page=7

Yet they delay the announcement until the afternoon when the crowd (most of whom surely would have been folks from out of town who were staying overnight?) arrive in the city?

strikes me as quite obvious that they knew in good time there was going to be no show. I initially thought it was bullshit the suggestion some made that the casinos may have got them to delay the announcement as it would have hurt their business. Now I'm not so sure...
29th October 2006 09:47 AM
glencar Shit, I've got to stop reading or I won't want to take that fine Long Island Railroad train into the Big Apple. Talk about "no expectations"!
29th October 2006 10:10 AM
scope Exactly Glencar. We should be shaking with anticipation and instead we have all these feelings of bad karma. This is not how it should be.

Gazza, I just read the posts you linked to. I am convinced it was a scam all the way. When I went to the Beacon yesterday the woman giving out the wristbands gave me this story that she was in AC, and got the call at 2:00 that the show was off. Then I see that Glencar got the same story. They must have handed out a script for everyone to follow.

Sir Stonesalot You guys were fucking LIED to, and shit on. You just CAN'T take something like that in stride.

Have fun at the Beacon. Get your refund for AC.

Anytime you want to see a show in LA you can sleep on my floor.

If LA is the 2nd to last show of the tour I can blow it off too. These bastards are fucking with my Thanksgiving holiday now.

purrcafe The four aliens known to civilians as the Rolling Stones are kept by a top secret branch of the government at an off limits base called Area 51, located in Groom Dry Lake, Nevada.

They spend their time teaching our armed forces about alien technology acquired by the government from the many crashed, recovered UFOs that we are in possession of.

A.C. was cancelled because the four aliens had to reconvene with the mothership to sign an extension of the treaty between the government and the aliens. Without this treaty we would all have been vaporized long ago.

We continue to exist only on their whim.

monkey_man Where is the info that the cancellation was BS? I've been away from the net for a few days so I don't know where this is coming from. Reading all this has gotten me sick all over again. I had a great time meeting the RO people in AC . . .it made the shitty day that much better!! GC and PDog after I left you the night got better and then much worse. The storm really fucked with my hotel and flooded a part of my room and then a few squares of the ceiling fell in from the leaking floor above me. . . .I know know what it means to say " if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all"!!! I am definitely not going back to AC and I'm going to get all my money back!!

so sorry I didn't get to meet you!!!

Started drinking too damned early to ease the pain.

Word is that Mick was just fine and practiced a full set yesterday. I'd think he would have been nursing his "sore throat", no? Laughing it up with Slick Willy for photo ops.

Yeah...AC wasn't selling well and they couldnt' break away from set and the groove of the Beacon. It's turning out quite nicely, actually.

Too bad for those of us who spent time and money to get to AC....only to find the door closed and the lights out.

My view...tell me a day ahead so I can salvage some $$$. Don't lie to me. It's insulting.

There comes a point with an experience like this when there's no more words. Short of grieving the passing of a loved one, this really hurt.
