DAVINO My 1st concert ever was Keith & the X-Pensive winos, Meadowlands, New Jersey, December '88. My dad took me, the Replacements opened. Keith did "Run, Run Rudolph" and "Happy", oh yeah, and "Connection"! The Stones I have now seen 7 times, all 3 Garden shows, 1998. Plus, last, (Licks), tour, Garden & Giants. And ABB Tour, Giants & Hershey. I think they are somewhat sloppy guitarwise, especially SMU, but Mick sounds frickin' like a bell. So, 7...

Gimme Shelter So far I've seen them 12 times, after November it will be 14.

I don't think I'll see more, I don't want to pay 150€ for a stadium show.
October 9th, 2005 01:05 PM
Gazza I doubt you'll have to, to be honest

Plus, its beginning to look like the first European show next year will be in Brussels (June 8th, so I hear) so I doubt you'd want to miss a tour opener thats so close!

gorda In person, I have only seen the Stones once. It was in San Jose, California. It was a great show. I was like 5 rows from the side stage!

On video, I have seen them hundreds of times!

I'm not from belgium Gazza but north of France.
I really think that for good seats we'll have to pay more than 150€ !! And seriously, I've never been impressed by a Stones stadium show, sorry (bad sound, bad seats, etc).

October 9th, 2005 01:20 PM
Gazza I know you're from the north of France, but Brussels is relatively close.

I agree with you regarding a lack of fondness for stadium shows, but a tour opener near to where you live is often tempting!

Oops, sorry Gazza. I read "in your country".
October 9th, 2005 01:23 PM
wisertime If it happens, I'll go without tickets to try to find less expensive ones just before the hour of the show.
Do you go to see Dylan in Dublin ? I'll go to Brussels and maybe Oberhausen. I can't wait !!
October 9th, 2005 01:54 PM
Gazza yes..I have 4 shows in a week

The first two of the 5 London shows at Brixton Academy (20 & 21 November) followed by the 2 Dublin shows (26 & 27) which are the last ones of the tour. Looking forward to them!

I am in AWE!! WOW
October 9th, 2005 04:18 PM
Gazza Christ, thats nothing..I know people who have seen over a hundred shows - all since 82, as well!

Mind you, with 3 exceptions Ive always had to get at least one plane or boat to every concert I've been at, so I guess I've done ok

Having an understanding wife helps. The fact that she likes the Stones too (shes seen about 12 shows with me) is even better.

Also saw Bill Wyman & Kings 2 times in Amsterdam (2 shows in 1 night), but wasn't impressed, so stopped going to his shows.

Bitch MSG in 1971, that was my virgin show, literally. Too many burnt out brain cells to count all the shows in between, but at least once or twice every tour in NY NJ & Philly so it's gotta be at least 20- 25 So far ABB:
May 10 - Press Conf - does that count? not really.
Aug 23 Fenway
Sept 13 MSG
Sep 15 Meadowlands
Oct 10 Philly
Oct 12 Philly
Nov 8 Hollywood
Nov 13 Frisco
Jan 20 MSG

and I'm looking for a ticket for MSG on Jan 18th if anyone has an extra. And hoping for a show in Europe next summer.
