for reasons i won't go into i didn't see adelaide '73 but did catch an earful of it
but quantity is not everything - the enmore experience - particularly as i was able to get front and centre - and i do mean FRONT - there was no more front than i was front - i was the frontiest -(wow starting to sound like sirmoonie there) - was worth dozens of stadium gigs 100 metres from the stage |

1981 - Pontiac Michigan both nights.
I lost interest after 81. too many football , baseball stadium
shows. In 97 i moved out of the metro detroit suburbs. To attend a concert in that area now would be a 4 hour drive one way. Ticket prices too high , and some of the members of the touring party i don't care for. Back Up singers for one.
Not needed in my eyes.

Okay I have to ask here to Papy what was the concert like in
1967 for the Stones? How close were you and was it great?
Next what the hell are those things in the water that keep turning
up on this site? I mean those things that look like the one is
biting the other one? What are those things anyway?? |

Snake bursts after gobbling gator
An unusual clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m) python has left two of the deadliest predators dead in Florida's swamps.
The Burmese python tried to swallow its fearsome rival whole but then exploded.
The remains of the two giant reptiles were found by astonished rangers in the Everglades National Park.
The rangers say the find suggests that non-native Burmese pythons might even challenge alligators' leading position in the food chain in the swamps.
The python's remains with the victim's tail protruding from its burst midsection were found last week. The head of the python was missing.
"Encounters like that are almost never seen in the wild... And here we are," Frank Mazzotti, a University of Florida wildlife professor, was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.
"They were probably evenly matched in size. If the python got a good grip on the alligator before the alligator got a good grip on him, he could win," Professor Mazzotti said.
He said the alligator may have clawed at the python's stomach, leading it to burst.
"Clearly, if they can kill an alligator they can kill other species," Prof Mazzotti said.
He said that there had been four known encounters between the two species in the past. In the other cases, the alligator won or the battle was an apparent draw.
Burmese pythons - many of whom have been dumped by their owners - have thrived in the wet and hot climate of Florida's swamps over the past 20 years.

The first concert I went to was the March 29, 1967 - afternoon show in Bremen.

Hi Johann, we have seen the vintage Stones (with Brian) and they where the greatest at this time, but for me the 69/70 era was the better one, the rougher one. The music was more earthen and Mick and Keith lives their SexDrugs&RocknRoll thing.
Every Stones concert was very special, but the 1970 show is unforgotten.
Can't wait to see them next year.
