Some one asked about the expense of it all:

Besides three free shows, the lowest price for a ticket was $5.00 US, the highest $524.00.

The least expensive show one for me was about $7.00 US and the highest was a bit over $1500.00 US

My gut says hang the cost, the experience is well worth it!!

christijanus THANK YOU for sharing your list (you're the master!!)
I know a guy in the Netherlands who had over 100 shows in the beginnig of the Licks tour and I've seen him on many concerts afterwarts, maybe he did more concerts that tour than I did. He may come close to your list. I've heard that the by many people known Ono's did more than a unbelievable 400 shows!!!

time is on my side Chiefmoon- I'm truly in awe. I don't often say this because it's a cliche but I'm going to say it anyway- YOU ARE THE MAN.

You have been there when Brian was still an integral part of the STONES , experienced the wonders of Ya Ya's first hand, saw the horror unfold at Altamont Speedway, witnessed the STONES at the peak of their creative powers with Mick Taylor, and then trucked on through all subsequent tours (1975, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1989, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2002, and 2005).

You have bathed in the spiritual water many TIMES (122 to be exact).

What was your favorite concert or tour??? How would you compare the current concerts in 2005 to the ones in the past??? Also, I noticed you've slowed down somewhat during recent tours by not going to so many shows- any reason????

Finally, have you been able to save most of your ticket stubs????

Single favorite show was 7/29/95, Voodoo Lounge in Basel.

Favorite tour: I guess I could say TOTA for cost, Some Girls for pace, Steel Wheels for show quality, Bridges for the added adventure of foreign travel, Licks for seating arrangements.

But then again with me it is quite possible that the NEXT tour will prove to be the ultimate favorite, because this particular bunch of wandering minstrels has the unnatural habit of outdoing their previous efforts...

(The stubs have been saved, but due to a theft in '76 I no longer have '66-'75 in terms of stubs, but I do have other evidences of these events in other form)

As to "slowing down": many things beyond one's control.
However this can and may change at any time.

thats that Japanese pair that pop up at the front on every Licks video

An unfortunate name for a Stones fan to have.

Good luck to them that they go to every show, but it begs the obvious question - what kind of lives do they have? I'm assuming that they're not only fanatical fans but are so independently wealthy that they dont have to work and can just cross the globe following the Stones from the front few rows at every concert. I've noticed from the reviews on IORR over the years that there are a few people who must do at least 50 shows a tour, and do so on practically every continent.

As much as I enjoy going to see as many shows as I can afford (and I've done it to a level way in excess of my actual financial means) I dont think I could retain the enthusiasm if I was going to see the Stones every week. I've always enjoyed it more when I've had a break - even during a tour, if I get even a couple of weeks off, thats fine by me.

When you go that often, there's little or no novelty factor, surely

makes you wonder what these people are going to do with their lives after the Stones stop touring. It'll be a big void for all of us, but these folks will probably end up committing hari-kiri
