KeepRigid "Laugh? I Nearly Died" is a GREAT title. Hopefully, it replaces one of the earlier rumoured ones.

I'm guessing the ballad will be released to Top 40, with a faster song released at the same time to rock stations. There are about as many 'charts' today as there are heavyweight champions.

glencar I remember when the Stones shot the Waiting On A Friend video in NYC. The Daily News said they were filming a video for a song called "Standing In A Doorway" which was also the photo they had of Mick. These titles are highly suspect.

mac_daddy my vote goes to manhattan beach...

imo, anything with "bang" in the title would be lame.

leading off with a ballad might be a smart move commericially...

true, and in both cases all of the ones at the top are generally fucking awful and there have been about 3 genuinely good ones in the last 20 years!

They have a good chance this time for a decent hit in US thanks to digital downloads, see Macca last week: with only 12,000 downloads and zero airplay he made the Top 50 in Billboard, with a heavy promotion on Itunes and with a catchy song the Stones' will get their first US Top 40/50 since the Steel Wheels era.

It's strange: this album is hard hittin', back to the basics, it kicks ass...and the first single is a ballad?

Well, not so strange; "Miss You" wasn't a very typical representive of Some Girls...

gimmekeef The first single is irrelevant because we know regardless of how great this album is it wont be a commercial success in todays market. If it rocks and has a kick ass tone and the ballads arent throw aways..we'll love it and thats all that counts anyways!!!

Mmmmmmm so we can speak Dutch as well. You know Mick knows a few words as well. He always says: "Het is goed om in Holland te zijn." Or: "Wat een leuke meisjes hier!"
