Fn_Nick SirStonesalot, I've got your winner right here:

"Think Rod Stewart"

Sir Stonesalot Rescued, what does the Ramones have to do with those songs you mentioned? Those songs sound nothing like the Ramones.

Not a single Hey Ho, or Gabba Gabba Hey, to be found.

The songs that you mentioned would be nothing but filler on just about any other Stones album, if they even made the cut at all.

And I'm not a homophobe either. I have several good friends who are gay. And if Voodoo tries to get back in this thread...I'll have another gay friend.

Oh, I know he isn't gay....but everyone will read that he is, and if it's on the internet, it must be true....He will have a LOT of explaining to do.

I'm an evil sumbitch sometimes.

Gazza I dont hate the album..I think its 1/3 great (esp. "Where the boys go" 1/3 OK and 1/3 hideous

so my 3 word will aply for the songs I dont like..especially the title track

"Reeks OF Smegma..."

(not sure if that slang is familiar to US folks,tho..)
07-01-02 07:40 PM
beer "Diet Some Girls"

Emotional Rescue: A pale imitation of the album that preceeded it. Less filling, uninspired, flat............

Rescued Sir Stonesalot,

I made the Ramones comparison because Summer Romance, Let Me Go, Where The Boys Go, and She's So Cold are relatively short, catchy, guitar based pop tunes sung with a snotty attitude.

It's all a matter of personal taste ultimately, but I think the record has a lot of strengths. Cool cover - great title - clean sounding production with a live, raw feel - bands playing is great, especially Keith and Ronnie's interaction -songs are uniformly shallow and tongue in cheek(a stylistic asset here)with the exception of the heartfelt closer All About You. Ah well, it's masochistic to get into a debate about it on this thread.
