Monkey Woman Just perfect!!! I love these pics of the Glimmer Twin together. Song brothers, as John Lennon put it so rightly.

Can you just feel the power in that shot?

It's wonderful when their together.

Joey " Can you just feel the power in that shot?

The fact that they do not sing together anymore is a MAJOR reason why the new material sucks so bad .

" ' Let it Bleed ' should only be played LOUD ! ' Live With Me ' especially Ronnie "

Jacky !

LadyJane Great pics!!

Agreed....when Mick and Keith were singing together...it was the best.

Have I said it lately....God, I love this band!!

Mick sings:
"Pammy, Pammy, when will the Marlins disappear?"
"Pammy, Pammy, will you still lead us in a cheer?"

Bet you'd let Mick dry those tears!!

10-17-03 12:25 PM
LadyJane Merci, L&A!!

You have me VERY, VERY happy!!

LadyJ.

OMG...Just realized that pic was taken on July 6, 1978. The day after I met and chatted with Mick. Makes perfect sense..Buffalo on July 4...Detroit on July 6. That explains the look on his face.....he is obviously still reeling from meeting ME!!!!

egon i like that picture.

Monkey Woman Wonder if this'll work...

BTW, it's not a nightgown Mick is wearing, but a djellaba. I guess this is in Morocco, 1989, when they recorded 'Continental Drift' with the Master Musicians of Joujouka.

Yes, LJ, both pics are coming from a boot called "Abandoned in Detroit".

When I listen to "Miss you" (last song of side one), I can hear in Mick's trembling voice that he didn't recovered from the shock, lol

nankerphelge Good ol' Mick and Dave!!

Forever downplaying the rumour!!

Those are some wild shots of '81!

The '78s are still better

I remember that July 4th Stones show in Buffalo.
I was in deep Stones mode then.
I had Hot Rocks, Some Girls and some beat up copies of Exile and Sticky Fingers that a good friend raided from his sister who didn't appreciate them.
This was the time in my life when I realized I was a mutant.

Some friends of mine got to go to that show.
They were a few years older and their parents, unlike mine, felt they were mature enough to resist the temptations of drugs!
Now it isn't like I was some hooligan!
Yeah I'd been busted for chiba at the dinner table once.
Wasn't my fault, I'll tell ya that!
It's was my dad's.
Every time I went to put a forkful of food in my mouth, he'd look directly at me and ask some sorta question, and I was so fucked up, I kept dropping my food right in my lap!
Musta happened about 4-5 times.
He knew immediately that I was either drunk, stoned, or having a major stroke!

Anyhow, one bust, and my parents are concerned about the Stones. Like I would just go on the road with them and party all the time and never return home at 15!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm..........

Anyhow, to make a long story short (too late, at least try for interesting), I remember seeing the Kodak gossies upon their return. And hearing the stories of stadium decadence.

FOURTH OF JULY AND STONES!
I'm stuck looking at Fotohut prints.
I vowed to never miss that party again!

LadyJane It was a great show!!! Even better--chatting with Mick the next day in Suite 811 at the Sheraton Hotel. He asked my best friend and I if we enjoyed the show.

Two dumbfounded 18 year olds just shook our heads...."Yes, Mr. Jagger...it was great."

He then jumped on the couch and started doing the "Mick Strut".

OMG....I cannot believe I was in the same room with him for 20 minutes...no camera...no pen....The autograph is in lipstick.....VERY appropriate

LadyJ.

Do you know I was recently at the Hotel for a business conference? I just HAD to jump on the elevator and head to the 8th floor. Stood outside Suite 811 and the tears started flowing!!! Hard to believe 25 years have passed.

L&A..Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Nanky..Your story reminds me of a scene from "That 70's Show"..with you as Eric Forman and your Dad as Red!!! LOL
10-19-03 01:31 PM
Monkey Woman Ooh, lipstick autograph! Lucky you, LJ!!!
10-19-03 03:27 PM
Child of the Moon Whoa, Keith looks like he's wearing Bill Wyman's wardrobe in that one above (w/ the blue jacket, etc)!
10-20-03 02:13 PM
LadyJane

Mick says: "Hey...Keith and I are still very capable of writing good new material. Our new album will be released in 2004 and it will be a smashing success. And we would like to thank the members of Rocks Off for inspiring us to get back in the studio and write together."
