Thanks Lady Jane.
: )
Love those mid-seventies shots, Caro!! Look at the grill cloth on Keefs Ampeg Amps...
All these pics I'm posting are from Chris Walter. A really great photographer.
The Flying V Keith, Taylor Firebird..etc, pics are from Top Of The Pops TV show '69. Somebody said '71 but I dont think so. Keith only used the Flying V in '69. (Honky Tonk Woman's release-Hyde Park show. Summer '69..)Taylor's Firebird usage also was right when he joined the band. And used on the first thing he recorded (HTW Single)
Those recording session pics may be from LA in the fall of '69. Stephen Stills...etc. They did some recording of Let It Bleed in L.A. after Olympic. Not sure though.
Help me out if anyone knows the details
A couple of R&R Circus pics
Somebody's Dining Room?? LOL

Hey, there's Steve Stills! What's that barrel of a man doing back there? Could this be from the last 1970 European show? Mick's outfit seems to suggest it's from the '70 tour, and Stills did show up to play with them in Amsterdam. |

It's great to see the Stones with their idol Chuck Berry. Keith's smile in those pics is worth worlds. And Berry is smiling too, which is a nice counterpoint to the stories about him being nasty to the Stones on several occasions.
(Those are from the 1969 American tour, obviously. CB opened for them in several shows. It's amazing how fast the Stones evolved, only 5 years before THEY would have opened for him...) |

Who's that pictured with Brian?
Great CB pics, by the way. Nice job, Promo. |

Thank you, everyone! It's a pleasure to be here.
The guy pictured with Brian (They're playing Monopoly..LOL), is Ron Schneider, the financial manager for the Stones during the mid and late sixties. All the pics in that post are from his site. (meandtherollingstones.com)
I love this Henry Diltz pic

Ah, now I recognize him. He appears briefly in Gimme Shelter, and they continually refer to a Mr. Schneider during those lawyer bits. Thanks for the info. |

Anyone know who these guys are with Charlie??
The one on the left is supposed to be Jimmy Miller. Jimmy always looks different in every pic I see of him.

I'm not sure about Jimmy Miller either, but Charlie looks great! Hey, he almost looks like a hippie on that pic - incredible, hehe...
Thanks again for the pics, Promo. Looking forward for the next series |

Mick sure can wear a pair of pants, cant he?! My, he packs a wallop, to quote Miss Pamela (and I guess she should know, lucky bitch groupie). |
|
Monkey Woman |
Tight pants are a big part of the Stones experience... LOL!!! And Keith doesn't look minuscule either. Too bad Bill's in shadow, with all the groupies he got, he must have something attractive there... |

Wow--LadyJane--I loved the final tour shots you posted. That last one was just perfect. Keith looming in the background, a manic Mick up front. It is bittersweet. But hey, lets save our pennies, cus next go-round, we are gonna really "do" the tour, RO-style.
I am just crossing my fingers that they will continue to do some club gigs. |
