Hey Nasty,
Excellent taste there! Sugar Pie DeSanto especially, and especially "Down in the Basement" with Etta James. I love that song! But, Wow!, she sure is a dog, at least on the album cover.
Roland Kirk's another excellent choice, as is Sam & Dave. (Speaking of, have you seen that documentary, "Only the Strong Survive," recently out on video I believe. It's got a lot of S from S&D, plus Anne Peebles, Carla Thomas, etc.
