I would vote for 0.25 as on dime - anything else is impossible because too many people have slow upload speed and/or a fair-use policy and they simple can't give back as much as they take. And sometmes it's even hard to give back any MBs at all when you're late on a torrent and nobody else is leeching this stuff anymore. I know what I'm talking about - I have this kind of problem on the Pink Robert tracker as I'm always late so when I'm leeching stuff I hardly give back and as soon as I'm done I'm always getting an "unknown passkey"-error and that's it...
But maybe a ratio of > 0.25 would prevent people to stop seeding immediately after they've finished their download - worth a try, don't you think so?
cheers
silkcut
Hi Silkcut,
my ratio at PR is 0.611 presently.
Nevertheless, I get the "unknown passkey" after a while (1 or 2 days). Then I open the PR-site, wait a few seconds and then either manually update the tracker (I use µTorrent) or wait for the automatic update, if its only a few minutes away.
Try it.

There's really no difference in burning a PAL or NTSC DVD, I wonder why he said that. Every program can burn these formats.
I use ImgTool Burn 1.2.1 (free).
http://www.coujo.de/ib2/index.php?act=module&module=include&incl_name=download
ImgTool Burn uses the Nero API to burn DVD root directories directly to DVD. Because the Nero API is used, you need an installed version of Nero Burning ROM (get a free demo)

That's right, I don't know why but the tracker seems that it doesn't recognize you or your IP anymore and you need to enter PR page again to automatically update this info.
Then, like joguema said, update the tracker in your bt client.

gonzalo76,
I have Nero 7 and use Burning ROM to make my CD's and DVD's. The reason I am asking is this. I recently downloaded a performance by Elton John but I was unaware that it was PAL format. It plays fine on my computer but I would like to play it on my stand alone DVD player hookedup to the TV, but it needs to be NTSC format. Hence, my question. Any help ?

Well, in that case you need to do some "extra work".
IMO this is the best guide I know and always use. Believe me, I read a lot of guides about it, but this guide is simply the best. Thank you FulciLives !
How to convert a PAL DVD to a NTSC DVD using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5x
Normal version:
http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=300144&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
Printer-friendly version:
http://forum.videohelp.com/printview.php?t=300144&start=0
Good luck !
EDIT:
I guy called Larry send me an e-mail saying that because he was not a member of RO he couldn't post another guide. So here is his mail and my reply:
Larry wrote:
> Hi, I am not a member of Rocks Off so I can not post there, hopefully you don't mind me sending you an e-mail to offer some help on the subject of PAL to NTSC conversion. I went to the 2006 09-20 show at Gillette Stadium and was searching for a boot of the show and was looking thru your forum when I saw Egeboy was looking to convert PAL to NTSC. I am a regular on Yeeshkul (Pink Floyd site), and that subject has come up more than once. Try out this method of converting:
> It has worked 100% of the time for me, and takes only 30 seconds to open the program and modify the .IFO files. Plus IFOEdit is Freeware!! It is a good idea to back up your original PAL .ifo files before you modify them into NTSC, in case you want to seed the show some more. The video quality will not change from this method, it does not get jittery or anything funky, this works perfectly for me everytime, Audio quality is unaffected.
> Hope this was of some help to you and all the others at Rocks Off, seems like you have a nice group here, Eltee
gonzalo76 wrote:
Hi Larry,
I know that method and of course I know that guide, but there's not always 100% accurate.
That is not a real convertion, it's simply a "trick".
That's why I did not recommend this method, it's not 100% seccure and it's not a real convertion.
Just take a look at the comments, not everybody is happy with this method.
Anyway, I'll post your help in the message board and offer this guide too.
Regards,
Gonzalo
So, it's up to you people, you decide which method to use.

egeboy,
If you use Nero 7, click on "Make Your Own DVD/video" and add the VTS files. You'll have to make your own menu and chapters, but right before burning, it gives you the option of automatically changing the video to NTSC. Just so you know for future reference.
