De Meeuw,
I threw out the 2DVD set of Jointrip's Ladies & Gentlemen a week ago...DVD2 is the same crappy version we had for years before the 4Reels version came out a couple of years ago, DVD1 is a copy of the 4Reels DVD...I guess they put that second disc on there so they could charge more money...they did something similar with the LA '75 DVD...I threw it in the garbage too!

Interesting. The reviews I read on TTD and PR suggested the JR DVD1 was a sonic improvement:
"I have 4reel but this one is much better, especially sound-like. Instead of second disc with so-so version of C... Blues, maybe it would be wise to seed the best version of it.
PR"
No one has been able to come close to the CSB that you circulated, MRD8, so the seeds on TTD and PR left out DVD2.
Thanks again for your generosity.

I really like Easy CD-DA Extractor. It rips, converts, and burns, and yes, will burn FLAC straight to disc:

Not only will it burn gapless discs, but if you have discs with gaps, when you rip them it'll take them out for you if you want. Check out this screenshot. See near the bottom right where it says "Delete leading and trailing silence." Can't beat it!

I would vote for 0.25 as on dime - anything else is impossible because too many people have slow upload speed and/or a fair-use policy and they simple can't give back as much as they take. And sometmes it's even hard to give back any MBs at all when you're late on a torrent and nobody else is leeching this stuff anymore. I know what I'm talking about - I have this kind of problem on the Pink Robert tracker as I'm always late so when I'm leeching stuff I hardly give back and as soon as I'm done I'm always getting an "unknown passkey"-error and that's it...
But maybe a ratio of > 0.25 would prevent people to stop seeding immediately after they've finished their download - worth a try, don't you think so?
cheers

"I would vote for 0.25 as on dime - anything else is impossible because too many people have slow upload speed and/or a fair-use policy and they simple can't give back as much as they take."
Respectfully, this is absolutely incorrect. It is easy to give back what you take, you simply have to download very little and upload for a very long time. If you have an upload speed of less than 128k, you probably shouldn't be on this or any other lossless tracker.
"And sometmes it's even hard to give back any MBs at all when you're late on a torrent and nobody else is leeching this stuff anymore. "
This is the only exception to the rule above. And only a problem with low-volume trackers such as PinkRobert. Again, the easy solution is to not be "late."

I don't know anyone with those sort of upload speeds and you would be excluding almost anyone in the UK if you applied those guidlines.
my upload speed is 16kb/s and I'm managing to maintain a ratio of 0.60 - 0.70 on Dime, but it's hard to find anyone to upload to by the time I've d/loaded a torrent.
my ISP is making a major upgrade to a 8MB sevice in a month's time and will give me approx. 260kb/s upload. I should be able to maintain at least a 1:1 ratio from then.
Sorry for been so technologically lacking . Maybe I should stick to snail mail trades?
