According to ticketone in Italy, the Rome show will be at the Stadio Olympico on July 6th.
This was rumoured to be the Athens date, so it looks like some of the dates mooted for that time (Bucharest now seems to be July 17 instead of July 14) are being moved around slightly. |

Paris & Lyon tickets are on sale from March 28, it appears.
I've been told or read 3 different cities listed as the opener - one in Germany (which Ive been asked not to name), Barcelona and Rome.
Rome now appears to be in July and the rumoured date for Barcelona (june 19th) reported in the Spanish press is incorrect, which leads me to think that may be the opener - unless they play there right at the end of June, after Madrid. |

I honestly think you'll have nothing to worry about, Fotini. I think its more a case of them adding extra shows to the itinerary over the last few weeks rather than removing any. |

Gazza, just got my tickets, taaaa!!!!!
Have you by any chance heard anything making the Isle of White concert more concrete??? The suspense is killing me! (and Boots have another suncream offer...) |

Lets not even get into discussions regarding ticket availability. There has been no problem getting tickets at any venue , even MSG, the past tour. Absent a club show, no one should have a problem scoring good tickets .... |

Its a message board - in case you'd forgotten - which means that fans share info on when and how tickets become available. If you dont find it interesting, then dont feel obliged to post about it.
Its certainly more valid a discussion than endless "wide open" comments about every show which are now in their 3rd or 4th year of use and which ceased to be funny around 2003. |

The wide open "anthem" became a reality that anyone but the Stones apologists, recognized. The shows have not sold all that well, particularly the return tour. My point was simply to alleviate any fears of ticket scarcity , whick always seems to be a concern, despite the fact that almost every show had tickets available up and until show time...I am sure the next complaint will be , yet again, how expensive the tickets are....While "wide open" may have ceased to be funny, the bitching about obtaining tickets/ticket prices is far more offensive imo.....Then again, who would think we would have a new thread every day about Patti Smith and the fucking Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame.....enough already!!!

jb, i was thinking of renting a villa on the beach in barcelona.
we'll stay 2 days before the show & 2 days after,
giving enough time to make the big drink & find the lose women.
I'll get back to you on Lyon, cos i'm not sure
they have 6 star hotels there (it's in france you see..)
But anycase, you can go ahead and book the flight
cheers

I had the opportunity to spend some time in the "Costa del Sol" region of Spain and it was lovely. We stayed at a tennis resort with a villa overlooking the ocean. The nightlife was fantastic , with fine dining and casinos. Spain is very European and it is worth going as even if they(the Stones) cancel, it will be a lovely vacation.... |

Does anyone have any information on when tickets for the Madrid show will become available??? My understanding is there will be a show there on the 28th of June. Any info on what ticket site sells tickets to concerts in Madrid would be greatly appreciated. Will a password be needed???
Thanks for any help.

June 10 for IOW seems pretty much a cert. They're simply holding off official confirmation jyst for the webcast, I assume.
Opening night will be Barcelona June 3rd per Spanish radio this morning. |

the info will be on rs.com as usual once the dates are finalised
different regions of Spain appear to have different ticket outlets. Servicaixa is probably the one for barcelona. i think egon and jostorm had tickets for these shows last year, so they might remember. |

This is no longer limited to Rolling Stones concerts...All major acts are implementing new marketing methods to by-pass the scalpers and maximize the take...As you see, even holding "auctions" on ticketmaster .....it is the sad reality of the modern day concert event .... |

yes correct. (servicecaixa is actually a bank...)
but i think they only sold tix for barca & not madrid

...yeah and I wonder who started it..
but hey "its only rock n roll" apparently.
never mind. When it gets to that stage, I choose not to go. I'm personally not that desperate for entertainment.

This is all big busines..you are looking at tours with grosses nearing 1/2 billion!!! One of the reasons rock is dying, is no new acts ever get heard or played....the reality is, until dinosaur acts like the Stones, U2, etc stop touring, there is no incentive to promote anything new...with these oldies acts, you have a proven commodity and no need to release new music in order to sell.... |

Rolling Stones possible in concert on National Stadium on July 17
BUCHAREST – The Bucharest Municipality has been asked by the Rolling Stones concert organisers to make available the ‘Lia Manoliu’ National Stadium on July 17, according to Virgil Carstea, head of the Parks, Lakes and Leisure Administration from the Municipality.
The Municipality is expected to make a decision in the next two weeks, after negotiations with the contractor who has been assigned the re-building of the ‘Lia Manoliu’ Stadium. The Municipality intends to make the Rolling Stones show the last major event to be hosted by the stadium before proceeding to its modernization.
Carstea stated that the concert may or may not be granted the use of the National Stadium varying with the work schedule of the builder – Astaldi-Mas Bogl, who, last week, was declared successful in the tendering procedure organised for the renovation of the National Stadium. The modernisation works should have begun this spring.
Local advertising industry sources told Mediafax that the Rolling Stones show would take place on July 14, without indicating the venue. The musicians answered the invitation of a mobile telephony operator and an advertising agency is already working on the promotion of the event. Vodafone Romania has sent the brief to the advertising agency it usually employs, added the same sources.

some of this may be factually inaccurate, but the final paragraph sounds interesting!!!!

Rolling Stones To Tour Europe
by Paul Cashmere - March 22 2007
The Rolling Stones will headline the Isle of Wight festival in the UK on June 10th.
Tomorrow (March 22nd), the band will also announce a series of European dates to make good for some cancelled shows on the A Bigger Bang tour.
Mick Jagger is expected to announce 20 more Stones shows for 2007 with the finale set for London's Wembley Stadium at the end of August.
Meanwhile, the Stones may also have new music to go with the new dates. In the last few weeks, the band has been in the studio with producer Don Was.
