So ,in your opinion, who or what is....

1/ worst song of the tour
2/ worst guitar solo
3/ worst piano player..hum, an easy one
4/ worst duet
5/ worst crowd
6/ worst show
7/ worst tour tee shirt

thanks for your answers!!

UGot2Rollme 1/ Slippin Away - played too often and not one of my favorites, anyway
2/ Sympathy for the Devil at MSG (flicks show) was pretty bad. Keith's repetitive riff (discussed previously)showed up uninvited too often on this tour.
3/ pling-plink virtuoso..... Chuck Leavell
4/ another easy one - Miss You with Justin Timberlake
5/ worst crowd I saw was in Zurich (only attended 4 shows though)
6/ - can't comment on this with only 4 shows seen - they were all pretty damn good
7/ worst tour-t: not sure, maybe Twickenham...
12-10-03 10:31 AM
jb worse song(s)-all of Keiths songs as well as "Heartbreaker"and "Hand Of fate"and 'IORR"
worse guitar solo(s)-SFTD, CYHMK, and again "Heartbreaker" and "Hand of Fate".
worse duet-- Mick and Justin as well as Mick and Sheryl Crow on HTW at MSG
worse piano-Chuck
worse crowd-Miami, Cleveland, Los Angeles, SARS brass concert
worse shirt-Green Dublin shirt
worse show-too many to list, but SARS was awful and embarrassing..

voodoopug worse song(s)-IORR on b stage...play a rare one here if you are going to also do Brown Sugar on the b stage
worse guitar solo(s)-Whip Comes Down, keef was a little too repetitive.
worse duet-Mick and Justin
worse piano-Change of pace, Tim Reece on Start me Up
worse crowd-L.A. Free Show
worse shirt-Simpsons shirt, i mean, i like the simpsons, but who is going to wear this thing? Maybe Josh will?
worse show-Sars Stock..too many technical problems with guitars, too much Timberlake, and a shorter set
12-10-03 10:55 AM
Jumacfly worst song: thru and thru, boring...even charlie miss the beat at the end..
guitar solo: hand of fate...JB, CYHMK is great imo...
piano: hum, must i answer!!
duet: nobody mentionned Bono!!
worst crowd: i can t answer, but i m fed up with these guys that talk during the shows and spoils the bootlegs (roseland for example)
worst show:stade de france(but just did 3 shows)....empty performance like a dead fish..
worst tee shirt: the dutchie one, blue, the green from ireland, the Twick show...well, charlie please play your drums and throw your pencils!!

cheers

2/ worst guitar solo
3/ worst piano player..hum, an easy one
4/ worst duet
5/ worst crowd
6/ worst show
7/ worst tour tee shirt

1) Satisfaction
2) SFTD
3) Chuck
4) probably with Bono
5) Stade de France
6) Stade de France, Amsterdam Arena 08-19

12-10-03 11:53 AM
Angiegirl 1/ worst song of the tour
2/ worst guitar solo
3/ worst piano player..hum, an easy one
4/ worst duet
5/ worst crowd
6/ worst show
7/ worst tour tee shirt

1) IORR and Gimme Shelter have been f*cked up too many times, and Brown Sugar
2) Brown Sugar intros, HOF, SFTD
3) Chuck's beard
4) Andrea Corr in Dublin on Wild Horses, it was sooooo boring and lacking inpiration
5) Stade de France Paris, Prague, Oberhausen
6) Amsterdam ArenA 08-19!!!! 2nd indeed Stade de France 09-09, OMG, those 2 shows were terribly embarrasing
7) Vredenburg, Dublin, Olympia, in fact all of the event t-shirts were ugly and made just an hour before the show it seems. I could have done a much better job designing simple shirts... shame

voodoopug anyone else confused by the fact that you could not buy a regular black t shirt with the stones toungue on it at all this year? For some reason i never had one and was dead set on buying one this year, but that is my penalty for waiting and always buying the new album shirts or the chicago event shirts!
12-11-03 05:06 AM
Mathijs 1/ worst song of the tour
2/ worst guitar solo
3/ worst piano player..hum, an easy one
4/ worst duet
5/ worst crowd
6/ worst show
7/ worst tour tee shirt

1. Everybody Needs Somebody. Turned them into a cheap Vegas band.
2. Woried About You. Wood managed to play off key and out of tune while his amp was feeding back.
3. The stones' piano player is hardly noticable...
4. Dave Matthews on Memory Motel. no, different tour...
5. The London Astoria crowd was cocky and not interested.
6. The Stones were cocky and not interested at the London Astoria.
7. I was wearing a quite terrible sleeveless shirt at the Olympia gig. But the Stones didn't notice.

yes, the young people have still a lot to learn, Dave M is the living evidence of it
12-11-03 07:28 AM
Angiegirl But the point is he sucked in '98, and I think he sucks in general, but that's my personal opinion of course. Only in the US he's that popular (I believe), in Europe nobody wants to see or hear the guy. And hearing that creep 'sing' Memory Motel 4 nights in a row was too much, it was hell. And then they even put it on No Security just to tease us.

MarthaMyDear I like that Twickenham shirt, actually... lol....... The ones
I hate, though, are the "ringer tees"!!! ICK!!!!!! Yes,
actually, alot of their designs are quite ugly..
lol............. It sure would be nice if they would actually
sell the SPECIAL designs THEY wear for the GENERAL PUBLIC, but
NO!!! lol......... WHATEVER!!! lol....... Actually, Smashing
Grandpa has (or had) EXCELLENT Stones t-shirt designs:

2/ I don't remember... lol.......... I was just enjoying myself too, fucking much on this tour to get nit-picky, I guess!!! lol... :P
3/ No one... I think Chuck's an EXCELLENT piano player... Just a geek and I don't think "geek" goes too well with Rolling Stones, IMHO!!! lol...
4/ None that I saw (or heard!!!)...
5/ Staples Center on Halloween!!!
6/ Worse show that I saw on this tour was PROBABLY Staples but I had an EXCELLENT time and I can't really say I saw a "worse show", or anything... I just love seeing them PERIOD, basically!!! Probably even if they walked on stage, farted, and left!!! lol........ I wouldn't pay those ticket prices, though!!! ROTFLOL!!!!!
7/ Any "ringer tee"... I have one, though... Bad purchase decision... lol...

pug...go to any "Hot Topics" located in the malls around ChiTown. They have the plain black t-shirt w/tongue logo, 24/7. If you can't hunt one down, let me know...
12-11-03 01:57 PM
voodoopug I think i overheard my wife telling her friend that she ordered me one from somewhere, so i will wait until after xmas to see if it holds true.

parmeda Eavesdropping, eh?

Just kidding...I hope you get one from Santa
If not, we'll roll the fat bastard and hunt one down for ya!

corgi37 Well, i only saw the one show, but 27 Feb in Melb, Ronnie did the worst solo. Actually, about 3 worst solo's. He couldnt be heard on much of the first 1/3. Couldnt hear him on HAPPY either, as he seemed more concerned with spinning around in his chair. We Aussies got the worst t-shirts. I couldnt believe the su-standard crap we were dealt. Not only compared to the fabulous shit they bought out for VL, but also on some of the pics of you guys i have seen on here. I was hanging to get a vampire t-shirt. I would like to include worst dance. Jagger during Monkey man was hilarious, if slighty embarrassing.
12-12-03 08:36 AM
MarthaMyDear Where are the pix of people from here wearing Stones
t-shirts?!?!?! I want to see... Mine in my avatar is not from
the tour but some bootleg one I only wear now and then 'cause
it has some rhinestones on it and you have to hand wash it...
I got it at this place in L.A. where they ALWAYS have these
cool Stones t-shirts for next to nothing so now I have this
huge collection!!! It's worth it to check-out vintage
clothing stores for that if there's a decent, low-priced (and
not completely picked-through, etc.) one in your area!!!
Probably would make a nice Christmas gift (or gifts), also!!!
Cheers!!!

MarthaMyDear Here's the link to Hot Topics online, by the way (I think)!!!

I thought I saw a Stones t-shirt or two on that site awhile
back... Cheers!!!

MarthaMyDear corgi37, what is VL?!?!?! lol........ Am I missing something
here??? lol.......... You can get (or at least were able to
get before...) that vampire t-shirt on rollingstones.com but
I haven't seen it there for awhile (?!?!?!)... Not sure I
actually DID see it there, actually... Maybe I saw it at one
of the show's booths, etc. (?!?!?!)... Monkey Woman have
one of those!!! The shorter, cut-off version (like Mick
wears) I haven't seen being sold anywhere as I think they
were just specially made for him alone (and Charlie has a
jacket or two from the tour that was made especially for
him, I think, also)... Mick's special vampire shirts were
made from some designer and I THINK the designer has a store
in L.A. (on Beverly Blvd., I think) that I drove by (wanted
to go in but never got around to it)... They're cool,
though, and Charlie's jackets are WAY cool!!! I sure
would like one of those ones!!! lol...... Anyways, cheers!!!
