Ten Thousand Motels Art is making something out of nothing and selling it.

I never set out to be weird. It was always the other people who called me weird.

I wrote a song about dental floss but did anyone's teeth get cleaner?

If you wind up with a boring, miserable life because you listened to your mom, your dad, your teacher, your priest or some guy on TV telling you how to do your shit, then YOU DESERVE IT. ~ The Real Frank Zappa Book

Most people wouldn't know music if it came up and bit them on the ass.

It has never mattered to me that thirty million people might think I'm wrong. The number of people who thought Hitler was right did not make him right... ~ The Real Frank Zappa Book

People make a lot of fuss about my kids having such supposedly 'strange names', but the fact is that no matter what first names I might have given them, it is the last name that is going to get them in trouble. ~ The Real Frank Zappa Book

Remember there's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over.

Rock journalism is people who can't write interviewing people who can't talk for people who can't read.

The computer can't tell you the emotional story. It can give you the exact mathematical design, but what's missing is the eyebrows.

The whole foundation of Christianity is based on the idea that intellectualism is the work of the Devil. Remember the apple on the tree? Okay, it was the Tree of Knowledge. "You eat this apple, you're going to be as smart as God. We can't have that."

The whole Universe is a large joke. Everything in the Universe are just subdivisions of this joke. So why take anything too serious.

There is more stupidity than hydrogen in the universe, and it has a longer shelf life.

There is no hell. There is only France. ~ You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore

There are more love songs than anything else. If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another.

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

VoodooChileInWOnderl A nice quote from the name of a delicious instrumental tune I promise not to come in your mouth

"Hello there, welcome to the show. No, we are not going to play 'Cheepnis' - that's right - but we are collecting underpants, and we are collecting brassieres, we are collecting small articles of feminine underclothing. We are making a quilt... really - trust me. So here's the deal, if you're a girl and you're wearing a dress, whip 'em off, that's it, see? No problem. Even with a pin... what does it say? 'Nobody's perfect'. I guess so..."

MrPleasant Hello everybody!!! I breathe the stones (and Dylan and other sixties icons), but I couldn't resist adding another Zappa quote for a first entry:

"God, in his infinite wisdom, has provided us with an endless supply of assholes."

Every time I get sad or depressed I remember it as to not take things too seriously (sort of Keith's remark aboout having the desire to be around -to live, I mean.)

This link contains the whole interview (very funny, indeed. And one of the questions is about Zappa being misquoted!, which, I just sorta did)

VoodooChileInWOnderl This another cool connection between Zappa and the Stones...

12-06-03 02:00 AM
VoodooChileInWOnderl We're only in it for the music... yes

Someone sent me a private message asking for a musical connection between Zappa and the Stones, not just the blow job quote donated by RubyFriday

I'm going to post one of the few musical connections between Zappa and the Stones

It's Nicky Hopkins and Zappa (with Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart) back in 1968 when the Jeff Beck Group with Woody on bass were touring the USA and Zappa was producing and recording for the GTO's (Girls Together Outrageously) the album "Permanent Damage"

Full credits include
Frank Zappa - Tambourine
Jeff Beck - Guitar
Rod Stewart - Vocals
Nicky Hopkins - Piano, Keyboards
Ian Underwood - Keyboards
Don Preston - Synthesizer
Roy Estrada - Bass
Jimmy Carl Black - Drums
Craig Doerge - Keyboards
Rodney Bingenheimer vocals
The groupies:
Miss Christine - Vocals
Miss Cinderella - Vocals
Miss Mercy - Vocals
Miss Pamela - Vocals
Miss Sandra Vocals
The guys on the back
Frank Zappa - Composer, Producer
Lowell George - Producer
Sparky (Sparkie Parker) - Composer
David Jones - Composer

This first track does not have Rod Stewart on vocals, but I will post it later LOL cant believe someone produced this one yes I can. Mr. Frank Zappa did it

Download this and play it loud
