Nellcote When it was chic to have a plot in music videos...

Honky Tonk Man Have any of you Bond fans seen the film Layer Cake? It stars Daniel Craig and I guess it was the only thing many people knew him from prior to Caisno Royale. Its a fantastic British gangster movie and an absoloute must see in my opinion.

You say that having not seen Casino Royal,I trust? Because Daniel Craig is easily the most ruthless Bond that I have ever seen, and I have seen them all. I do quite like Dalton in LTK,but Craig is a truely vicious badass in CR. Go check it out Jizzy, and thank me tomarrow. Trust me here.

Oh no you didn't?! Nelly why? At least you didn't post that horrible Madonna video from the worst Bond movie ever! That would be-Die Another Day! That movie is goddamned cringe worthy it brings on scrotal shrinkage! The scene where Bond(Brosnan) meets Jinx(Halle Berry) is puke inducing. I have never seen a scene acted so horribly in any movie as that sorry assed excuse for acting! Don't believe me? Go rent it. Smoke a fatty. Then put that scene on (don't even bother with the rest of that POS movie),if you're not rolling on the floor laughing at the sheer suckiness of the acting during that scene I'll kiss your ass!

Yeah,I know it did well as far as box office gross is concerned, and a case could be made that it's not as bad as Moore's last film that Nelly alluded to in his post,A View To A Kill. That one is horrid,no doubt. However,I challenge you to watch the scene that I mentioned and not laugh out loud! It is the worst acted scene in any major motion picture, much less than a Bond flick, that I have ever seen. That includes Jagger's acting in Free Jack! Jizzy,go watch that Bond/Jinx scene again! Just don't be drinking anything at the time. Because you will spit it out everywhere!

lotsajizz I got the movie in mpeg format--just checked out the scene you mentioned. It IS a laugher...there was utterly NO chemistry between Brosnan and Barry throughout that movie...it started so well and became so silly so fast....

LOL! Right? I mean from the dialogue to the delivery that scene just flat out sucks. No chemistry is exactly right! I don't know who should be flogged harder, the writers,or the actors. I remember full well watching it at the theater and actually sighing and just shaking my head. I was a bit embarassed at being a Bond fan just then. Some people in theater even chuckled at the sheer idiocy of those god awful lines of dialogue.

Stonesthrow Hands down, the lamest Bond was Roger Moore. Every time I saw him on the screen, I expected to hear the theme music from "The Saint". As far as ruthless is concerned, I thought Connery in Dr. No was pretty ruthless when he plugged Professor Dent knowing Dent had no bullets. Then for good measure, put several more bullets into him and calmly blew the smoke from the gun barrel.

This is true, but given the social norms of the day it's no wonder that the lesbian angle was not played up more. The only real allussion to Pussy's lesbian nature was when she told Bond,"I'm immune to your charms Mr. Bond." Even that was very vague at best. Goldfinger redone would prolly play that subplot up more directly. However, given the stupid assed PC nature of today's social norms there is no way that Pussy would be "cured" of her lesbian "problem". Hollyweird would find some very PC way of dealing with Bond's seduction of Pussy Galore.

Yes, I noted it in my first post on this thread. I thought it was a tremendous film & even the ending was cool. I look forward to this latest JB but it'll probably be seen on cable by me.
