Gimme Shelter/ Perth'73 Mick Taylor is doing an awesome Wa Wa guitar solo - never heard that again - hot, burning, breathtaking
Happy, Forth Worth 1972 - never again so tight.
JJF - MSG 1972 - cruel and raw with a perfect Taylor.
Starfucker 1973 in Newcastle very swinging version sharp solo from Keef/ also Paris 76 - dirty and rough version
Tumbling Dice: Montreux Rehearsals - just awesome, also Love You Live version - animal like voice of Mick

The answer for me is quite simple
The first few seconds of the first Stones concert I ever saw (Slane '82)
The sheer "its fuckin' THEM! In the FLESH!" feeling when that curtain opened and out they came. It'll never be equalled
The nearest to it was the same moment 8 years later in Paris, for the simple reason that until a short time before that I'd gone several years thinking I'd never see another Stones show. I could have quite happily left after a minute that night and still have been satisfied. |

I felt the same way in '89 -- heart started pounding hard as soon as the lights went off and then BANG! Start Me Up. Never the same since! |
