Topic: Best Rock frontwoman / Showwoman of all time. Return to archive Page: 1 2 3

Ten Thousand Motels 1. Tina Turner
2. Madonna
3. Janis Joplin
4. Grace Slick
5. Cher
6. Annie Lennox
7. Dolly Parton
8. Britney Spears
9. Diana Ross
10. Patsy Cline

I'm not terribly comfortable with this list as I'm sure there's some that should be in the top ten that I've missed. For male "frontmen", the pecking order is kind of established in popular mythology already.

Nitpicker.

Maybe Dolly belongs on the "Social History of the Bra" thread. That I deleted. And just for the record, that's the only thread that I actually regret having deleted.

Now you are talking! you could've added Brody from The Distillers at one time, but she is a piece of shit like her boy Josh Homme.

sirmoonie Is yins all gay now? Courtney Love! Check it bleeds, a sexy dishwater blonde with nice boobs, drinking Gatorade, swearing like a sailor, saying her piece - how do you not get a tingly feeling every time a woman fitting that profile floats through your mind at work?

6th September 2007 12:18 PM
Stray Cat UK Patti Smith - coolest
Aretha
Suzi Quatro
Kate Bush - recordings only
Sheryl Crow - wears her Stones influence proudly, IMHO

Yeah, I know she's a real piece of work, but if she'd done nothing but Hole's first album, "Live Through This," she'd still be on my list.

Yeah, I thought of putting Joan in there too. She doesn't get half the respect she deserves. Still though, kind of disturbing how short that list is, even after all these years...

pdog Joan Jett, of course, if you don't own sinner, than you suck...
An honorable mention to the entire line-up of L7!

Factory Girl Patti Smith is AMAZING.

I'm interested in Courtney Love's music. Is it any good? I read she's going to make a comeback. She must stop dating loser freaks first.

That's the second album. The first album is "Pretty On The Inside," and after hearing that "Live Through This" was hard to get into. Gave it a few tries and never really listened to it after.
