Mr Jimmy seat number hidden to protect the recipient

no joke - FREE 5th row centre ticket for Boston

That's right. I bought one ticket through the fan club for
Boston on Wednesday September 20th but I just found out
this morning that I can't go. It's in the 5th row from the
main stage in section A3. That's pretty well dead centre.
I used my fan club legacy membership to get the ticket so
it looks like I wasted my pre-sale opportunity for this leg of
the tour by buying this one ticket.

I could sell it for a profit but I always say I'm a left leaning guy
and my socialist outlook on life triggered a thought... why not just
give the ticket to someone who wants to go to the show.

Don't think I'm a naive fool. I fully realise that if I give the
ticket to someone else they can easily sell it because it's a
fucking great seat. But you see, I'm the kind of guy who believes
that if the recipient does turn around and sell it, he'll get hit by
a bus or catch some horrible disease after spending the proceeds
on a hooker. If it's a female, she'll end up suffering from some
horrible fate like looking like Phyllis Diller. That also applies to
selling the ticket you might already have for the Boston show and
then using my ticket. I think you know where I'm coming from.

So what do I want in return? I'd love to be able to catch another
show on the tour but asking for an outright ticket swap kind of
contradicts an offer of a "free" ticket. I'm just looking for someone
who really wants to go to the show and would HONESTLY appreciate
a chance to see the world's most amazing rock 'n' roll band from
a centre seat only 5 rows away from the main stage.

I'm one of those die hard fans who's put in a lot of effort to see
the Stones... my first time was in 79 when I lined up for three days
in the bitter fucking cold and I was rewarded with an amazing
first time Stones experience at the Oshawa Civic Auditorium for
the Keith Richards Benefit Concert. Since then, through the
various tours, I've lined up to be right at the stage in general
admission stadium shows, had front row seats, and I've been
right up front leaning against the stage in some of their club shows.
I absolutely love this band and have for many years. Despite the
entertaining cynicism on this board, I know that most of you
love them too.

Please don't send me a private message. If you're interested in
this ticket, please respond in this thread and tell me why you
want the ticket... maybe you already have a ticket to the show
and would love to have a better seat. I'm not looking for a grovel fest
but creativity counts because the world can be a pretty boring place
without it and creativity has served me well...multiple entries are definitely allowed.

The concert is only a week away so there's not too much time
to respond before I decide who I'll send the ticket to. By the way,
it's a printed hard ticket from Ticketmaster and I'll FedEx it to you.

And now the catch because there's always a catch: I want to see a
photo of you holding the ticket while standing by the seat with the
stage in the background... very simple.

Anyone interested?

Michael Cohl I would love to have your ticket! I promise I won't sell it.

lotsajizz Foxboro is as far from Boston as Stamford is from New York City. Or Hyde Park. Foxboro is closer to Providence than Boston, indeed Providence has been host city for the NFL when the Patsies go to the playoffs, NOT Boston. Nothing pisses off the locals like some performer coming into Mansfield or Foxboro and sceaming "Hello Boston!"....
12th September 2006 02:03 PM
Mr Jimmy Sorry if I pissed you off.
12th September 2006 02:06 PM
RollingstonesUSA I would give my left nut for the ticket, lol, my son lives in Cambridge, and that would be perfect to see him and The Stones.

LSTNT Well Mr Jimmy

WOW

I've been a fan for 34+ years and am going to the show, obviously not as close as this. I too recall the good ole days of lining up outside to get our tickets. There was something special of the times in line swapping stories and holding spaces as we get a chance to eat or use the facilities, everything today is too corporate and inanimate. I do have an extra ticket for Atlantic City in October if that at all interests you. Excellent luck in the Legacy sale, all of us always try and very few succeed as you did.

Thanks

Kent

Hi,
I'm a total guitar playing Rolling Stones freak. I am also a truck driver and am going to drive my truck up there so I can catch the show. I also run the snowboard school at Blue Mt. PA and would be happy to either give you $80.00 [My pitiful budget]for this seat or hook you up with lift tix and snowboard lessons for this winter or Both. Last time I saw the Stones was The No Security Tour. You could make my day. you really could.......
12th September 2006 03:21 PM
rasputin56 I'd be happy to relieve you of the ticket and also as a left leaner look to help someone else out, as well. I'm not sure how but I'm sure something could be worked out. Maybe a donation to a charity or something? The closest I've ever been to the stage for the Stones was the opposite end balcony and mostly have suffered throught watching the vid screens w/ delayed sound. This would be amazing especially if this turns out to be the last time through.

Why thank you Glencar. Free snowboard lessons for you too!!

glencar You're welcome! Well, I do ski but snow boarding looks tough on the knees. Is Blue up past Scranton? I have a ski house near Jack Frost/Big Boulder.

not bound to please This is a tad bit creepy asking people to publically grovel for your ticket.

Anyway - my vote goes to RollingstonesUSA.

tumbled JIMMY!! JIMMY!! You want to pick me !! I'll tell you why in pm
12th September 2006 04:34 PM
Mr Jimmy Sorry to hear that you find it creepy... it's not meant to be and I don't think it is. I think it's an open and fair way to select someone rather than hiding behind private messages. By posting, everyone knows who's interested & what they have to say, and that can be done without grovelling. Asking for something isn't grovelling.
12th September 2006 04:45 PM
Saint Sway Dan is willing to pay half of what you are offering Mr. J
12th September 2006 04:50 PM
fireontheplatter that is very very nice of you to offer this ticket away...the world needs more people like you....
12th September 2006 05:06 PM
Cocaine Eyes I think it should go to "playguitar". Just a gut feeling while waiting for the rains to pour down in Toronto.

12th September 2006 05:08 PM
mrhipfl my vote is for playguitar as well.

Okay, carry on.

I'm not sure why PMs would be hiding though. Perhaps some people want to be discreet. It just seems that doing this publically is exclusionary and will cause hard feelings. Not your intent I'm sure.

It is nice of you to offer, if this is real.

Daethgod good on ya Mr Jimmy
gotta love the true Stones fans

its all about the music

12th September 2006 10:46 PM
GotToRollMe I would love this ticket.

In all my 43 years as a Rolling Stones fan I have never seen them up close. This would be the concert of a lifetime. I can offer my Giants ticket in return, but it's nowhere near to being a fair trade - Section 128, Row 21.

In any event, this is a wonderful gesture on your part.

Whigged I just moved to Boston by myself this year. After a Sox game on Memorial Day weekend, I fell from a third story balcony that gave way and to the pavement below.

Broke both of my arms, part of my back, three ribs.

I am still braced up in the arm, though life has started to return to normal. But I consider myself lucky to have survived, but unlucky to have had to miss out on being able to afford a Stones ticket because of mounting medical bills.

I swear on whatever you'd like the above is true (medical records can be provided upon request of course), but it means nothing as I would consider myself the most fortunate guy on the planet if you were place the ticket in my care.

Somehow, that would make this awful summer a distant memory.
