I once saw a cartoon where Gilligan is sitting all by himself on the island looking quite dejected and behind him comes the Skipper with his arms around Ginger , The Professor with his arms around MaryAnne and Mr. and Mrs. Howell all shouting in unison , " So , ..... how's old celibate this morning ? "
Jacky !

Gilligan and the Skipper really did have that, Howe do you say, "special relationship" that a Captain can only have with his first mate.

Gilligan's Island (by George Wyle & Sherwood Shwartz)
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty sailing man,
The skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day
For a three hour tour, a three hour tour.
The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The Minnow would be lost, the Minnow would be lost.
The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted desert isle
With Gilligan
The Skipper too,
The millionaire and his wife,
The movie star
The professor and Mary Ann,
Here on Gilligan's Isle.
So this is the tale of the castaways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.
The first mate and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the tropic island nest.
No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primitive as can be.
So join us here each week my friends,
You're sure to get a smile,
From seven stranded castaways,
Here on "Gilligan's Isle." |

lotsa - Bob wasn't Dobie - as some of the more er... "experienced" (read "older") posters will recall he was Maynard G. Krebs...the first beatnik I ever saw...even if he was a televison character version...

Little known fact...Gilligan liked him some reefer. So does Marianne!
Sho' 'nuff. Gilligan got nabbed trying to get weed shipped to him via Fed Ex. Who was he getting to ship it to him...yep, Marianne. Marianne with the shaky hand indeed!
And just howe did the Skipper know it was a "lil' buddy"? |

Denver loved the hootch. Good on him. Probably gave him the cancer. He got pinged not long ago for possession. Man, what an icon. Pretty young too. I loved that show. What a big part of my generation.
I'll have a beer and a herbal smoke for him tonight.
Mary-Anne was way hotter than Ginger. She had that Girl next door thing going. Plus, she was a pioneer of "Daisy Dukes". She's had more surgery than Cher, but still looks bloody good. She was working for Aussie tv a up to about 3 years ago as a Entertainment correspondent. Replaced by Danny Bonaduce i might add.
