pdog I was so worried you never returned from Boston. I'm hoping, you can make it to NYC, in 12 days.
Was it the best Stones show you've attended?
Welcome back...
Have you heard Sweet Neo Con, Mick also has IBS!
August 31st, 2005 01:42 PM
jb Thank you........I will be in New York for the 06 shows.....I heard 4 new songs at the Boston concert....RJ,ONNYA, Infamy, and BOMH.................................I enjoyed them all, but particularly liked BOMH. I will appear at other shows before New York but I am not sure as of yet which ones.
August 31st, 2005 01:43 PM

ListenToTheLion Great to have you back. I was wondering how you judge the shows till so far. I reckon you are the one of the few persons on this board to have confidence in. I appreciate your opinion sir.

This is my take.....the sound was the best since 89....Keith and Ronnie really focused and sounded very good. Jagger was great as always and Charlie was as steady as ever. The thing is, I don't listen to any post 78(and thanks to Throbby 81 boots) as IMO, they always sound dreadful. Thus, while my personal opinion was very positive, it may not trancend unto the boot. I thought Ronnie did a very admirable job, with Mick even encouraging him to move up to the front of the stage and play harder(at least that's how it appeared to me), and Keith was very solid...except he still does not play much when he does his set...."The Worst" was quite good. Overall, I highly reccommend attending if they play like this.....while the set-list is not great, (I am amazed YGMR has become a "war horse"), the performance was excellent.
August 31st, 2005 02:15 PM
ListenToTheLion Thanks. Does Ronnie's guitar playing comes close to his (great) playing at the end of the seventies? He was remarkable in those days.

No................but far better than anything I have heard since 89. His was focused as did not clown around as much as in the past.....Keith, also, for the most part focused on playing and faced Charlie many times digging the grove.

Thanks again. I really appreciate your opinion. I attach more value to your opinion than most of those
fellow-traveller's bullshit.

J.J.Flash Welcome back Josh... good to hear that you are diggin' them and the tour. Good to know that the tour is not a bust.

How did Chicago Pug behave? Has he been kind and receptive?

You shall be greeted in São Paulo/Rio de Janeiro in the following hot summer. Don't worry, São Paulo is plenty of fancy, flamboyant, expensive hotels (see: Hilton, Hyatt)

I would have liked to have heard "All Down The Line" as that is a hallmark song for Keith and Ronnie as far as guitars...from reports, it came off well(?). By the way, for the encores, when Keith came out and started the opening riffs for YCAGWYW I felt like I was watching L&G for a brief moment, and you would not beleieve it, but they actually played IORR the hardest I've ever heard it since LYL....
August 31st, 2005 02:34 PM
ListenToTheLion That's great news. LYL alwas been my favorite....

you are misinformed my friend. The tour - so far - is an enormous bust!

• the song selection sucks
• the set list are stale and repetitive
• they insist on blowing up a giant Scoobee Doo tongue that is even gayer than any lycra fishnet shirt that Chuck Levell has worn.
• the ass clown circus is performing on EVERY number

hell, even Charlie has walked off-stage in disgust at what a bust this tour is! TWICE!

the tour is a bust and the only thing that can save it is to hire The Black Crowes to re-teach them how its supposed to be done

LONG LIVE THE 70s!!!!!

Also, extra supa dupa violence, police killing anyone, poverty, dozens of beggars every block, children 8 yrs stealing/shoting you for a pair of tennis, well, a butchery much worse than Iraq or Israel, with a biggest number of dead bodies/day. Rio is a bit worse.
WORD!

My Joshy need not be idolized ;
Or enlarged at ' Shidobee ' beyond what he was at ' Rocks Off ' .
He IS to be remembered as a kind and decent man ;
A man who saw wrong and tried to right it ...
Saw suffering and tried to heal it ...
Saw War and tried to STOP it .

And those of us who loved him ** Young Joey's voice now cracking with visceral and heartfelt emotion *** ;
And who take him to his ' transition ' here today .
Know that what he was and what he stood for ;
Will someday come to pass for all the world .
As he said many times in many posts throughout the decades ;

I dream of message boards that never were and say , ' WTF ?!?! ' !!!!!!!! "

I Thank You For Your time Today !

Has anybody here seen my old friend Joshy?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
You know, I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend John?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked around and he's gone.

Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked 'round and he's gone.

Didn't you love the things that they stood for?
Didn't they try to find some good for you and me?
And we'll be free
Some day soon, and it's a-gonna be one day ...

Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
I thought I saw him walk up over the hill,
With Joshy, Martin and John.

throbby Hey JB! IORR was incredible at the Hartford show as well.

Unfortunately the recording from opening night pales in comparison to the aural memory I have. It comes close at times, but I fear the taper may have been too far away.

That's the Problem Throbby...the sound, which we know was great opening night, someho never quite makes it to the boot....there is no substitute for the live experience.
Anyway, great to meet you and Luxury and thnaks for all the discs....I wish I could have bought you more wine, but I know you had enough..LOL See ya again on tour!!!!
