sirmoonie So has anyone actually seen Steelie over in the Netherlands or is it just another fantasy?

He's easy to spot, about 5'6", 190 pounds, has a green plastic bracelet on his writs (unless he found a way to cut it off) and a tattoo under his left breast that says "Mop Boy."
08-15-03 01:39 PM
Factory Girl steelie is only 5'6??? Is that his height or width?
08-15-03 01:44 PM
sirmoonie Its going to take a huge tax cut to pay for this modernized electrical grid we now need all of a sudden. Time to loosen the belts, taxpayers. The ole Mints better get those printing presses cranked up too.

Joey " So has anyone actually seen Steelie over in the Netherlands or is it just another fantasy? "

Netherlands or Netherworld ?????????????????

And as for the grid , I believe that Pete Townshend said it best :

" We need a Universal Grid ! "

" We need a Universal Grid ! "

" We need a Democrat in the Presidency ! "

Or is that Utopia?

Lazy Bones Power was out here Thursday, too. From 4:11pm to 1:39am at my place. Like Tom said, the streets and lawns were full of people. The stars were absolutely incredible. Mars was in bright, full view. You could see satellites orbiting the earth - little white dots flying across the sky. Beautiful view until the moon came out.

Bonus for me was the university where I work decided to close for the day (Friday). Can't complain out a long weekend!
Now it hasn't effected me yet, but here in Ontario, Ontario Hydro has been preforming rolling blackouts - sharing power between grids until everything's back up. As of last night, only 66% of Ontario residents had power.

50 million people in Canada and the US were/are without power.

Makes you realize how much we take elecrticity for granted.

Jaxx well i was in la guardia airport awaiting my flight to chicago when the power went out. since laguardia has been the target of bomb threats as well as bombs over the years i sat there freaking out. should i stay in a downed airport or should i go back to blackened city? good thing i mistakenly took my sister's stash of lithia spring water. it has euphoric powers so i accidentally anesthetized myself and was able to cope. then, miraculously they announced they were going to board the plane and we departed even tho there was no power. they had to physically pry the pedestrian walkway away from the plane so they could close the aircraft door. we were only an hour delayed getting out of there! needless to say, missed my connection by a here 30 minutes and spent the evening in a fleabag airport hotel in the windy city. next day's flight out was 3 hours delayed, yet not one flight the night before had been added or held even tho several airports were downed and tons of people were stranded in the chicago hub. customer service is definatly at an all time low. i have to add that i was relieved as well as elated by the lack of rioting and looting on the streets of ny. i remember the last time there was a blackout all hell broke loose. a kinder and gentler city perhaps?

nankerphelge Hi kiddies!!

I was at my parents' in upstate NY when the power went out.
Didn't matter -- they absolutely refuse to use anything that requires electricity. No AC, no music, no nuthin'! It's like they're Amish or something!

It's a wonder I'm normal!!!

Just rolled a fat one -- gotta go adjust the head...

Miss U. What a disaster!!
I left Thursday around noon to go to Ottawa to try to get in to see
Mick Taylor. Unfortunately when I got there, the Big Blackout had
already occurred around 4 PM. Needless to say, MT's gig at Tucson's
was off as the bar was closed & most of the city & other cities in
Eastern USA & Canada blacked out.
Returned to Toronto late Friday evening, got followed by some drunkin idiot on the way home, then had some guy rub his crotch into me on the crowded bus home, and yes he was like the cover of SF...lol...then had to walk up over 20
flights of stairs to get into my sauna--err, darkened apartment. The worst part was no water in the apartment since I'm so high up.
Apparently the MT gig is postponed to this coming Tuesday. It will be
difficult to go unless I can get time off work on such short notice (assuming work will be reopened & subway will be back on) &
have some kind of guarantee of a ticket.
Anyways, the good news is the power came back on yesterday morning. Although we still have to go easy on water/electricity. I've been O.D-ing on Stones needless to say!!! Had my CD player hooked up to the outlet in the hallway, and that worked.
First time online here since the blackout.
Today is beautiful outside, everyone is enjoying it.

i was thinking maybe her girlfriend was out of town. have any of you seen the hillary deck of cards? its a howl and a half. i can't believe some of the things that have actually "come" out of her mouth.
08-18-03 03:50 PM
nankerphelge My sources DEEP within the former Clinton administration once told me that occasionally, Hillary woke at the crack of Dawn.

And then Dawn was secretly escorted from the White House grounds.....

Maxlugar Hillary simply LOVES puss puss!

I've seen that deck of Hillary and must get it.

Nanky! I was in Lake Placid when the power went out last week. At 4:15PM I would have been on the 3 train towards Penn Station! Can Macky pick his vacation time or what? Someone is smiling at Macky up there. I was at the WTC all morning of 9/10 as well. God wants me to post more. Oh, and Joey too!

Anyway, we had full power upstate! Seems Lake Placid gets it's own electricity from the lake! Exile and Jeff Becky Beck never missed a beat. CCR played quite a bit too. Isn't "Have You Ever Seen Rain" the most beautiful song ever?

MACKY!!!

08-18-03 08:49 PM
Joey " God wants me to post more. Oh, and Joey too! "

Damn straight my egg roll rolling pal .

Now throw young Joey a bone damnit -- I am so dry that I am mere hours away from digging up the Queens '99 .

" Richards or Richard ????????? Discuss Ronnie "

Jacky , converting the unwashed masses one bar at a time .

08-18-03 11:52 PM
gypsy It just wouldn't have been a good birthday without seeing Maxy's dog lover avatar. Thanks, Maxy!
08-19-03 08:11 AM
nankerphelge Maxy and I, vacationing in the 'daks at the same time and during the Blackout of 2003!!! Coincidence??

Doubtful.

Oliver Stone has already put a screenplay together...

"I was on the grassy knoll Ronnie"
08-19-03 02:23 PM
gypsy Any domesticated house pets in the upcoming film?
08-19-03 02:39 PM
nankerphelge You'll be happy to know that as I drove through my hometown, I stumbled upon a farm that raises llamas!!!

They had beautiful eyes, and at least a couple looked like they knew their way around a casting couch!!!

But it's Oliver's call....

08-20-03 01:38 AM
gypsy Have you ever been really drunk and had 'relations' with an emu? Just curious.
08-20-03 09:04 AM
nankerphelge Why do you ask?
Did you end up with those pictures from '85?
