akula Which song do you prefer the most out of these two?

Neighbours from Tattoo You, or Lies from Some Girls?
19th July 2007 11:58 AM
Jumacfly I do prefer the reggae version of Neighbors called "send it to me".
Lies is the only song I skip on Some Girls.

Mr Jurkka "NEIGHBOURS NEIGHBOURS NEIGHBOURS"
19th July 2007 12:20 PM
Nasty Habits Neighbors.

The "Is it any wonder why we fuss and fight" part, combined with the Rollins sax break are great.

I like Lies as a punk parody, but at this point its utterly inturned irony is kind of hard to take.

Throwaway I love the ending shouting on Neighbors, actually the entire final minute of chaos is great. Lies, not so much, though it is listenable. And Ju is right, Send it To Me is better than either.
19th July 2007 01:10 PM
CraigP I think that "Send it To Me" sucks and would be preferred over "Lies" or "Neighbours" by:
a: homosexual men
b: menopausal women
c: Mick Jagger

I Prefer LIES!!! they never rocked so hard.
19th July 2007 01:29 PM
Throwaway d)those with such sophisticated taste in Stones music as to regard ER as a masterpiece

THIS explains a lot.

voodoopug I prefer Neighbors. I liked it in the club shows in 2002 (Even saw a performance on the B Stage, but unfortunately, the sound was horrendous at Comisky Park in Chicago during the B Stage segment) Lies just doenst do it for me, it is the only track I regards as "filler" on an otherwise standout album.

texile lies all the way -
it sounds more raucous, raw and spontaneous .....
i hate the tinny (particularly charlie) sound of tattoo you.

I always thought TY was one of the better-produced post-Miller albums. To each his own i spose.

Welcome to the club

polytoxic Neighbours for me. Although "Lies, dripping off your mouth like dirt" is some great freaking imagery.

And kudos to those who understand that "Send It To Me" is a classic.
"she could be the alien". C'mon, that's needin' some lovin'.
19th July 2007 05:03 PM
fireontheplatter i pretty much turn either song down when they come around
but if i had to pick between the two, i would go with.

NEIGHBOURS.

damn you for making me make a choice.

Spru Absolutely love both - tough call - and I love Send It To Me as well. I would have to give it to Neighbors by the slightest margin, though.
19th July 2007 06:39 PM
mrhipfl I prefer "neighbors." I've never heard the reggae version. Anyone willing to "send it to me?"

MrPleasant For the moment, I'm far from home, living in a rented apartment. So there's this dumb woman who complains to my landlady that I keep the lights of my room on late at night. And she doesn't even live right next to me. What is the fucking problem? Neighbors neighbors neighbors. I'll drink to my fucking lights tonight.

Best drum sound on any Stones album, ever IMO

In fact, its the best mix on any Stones album.

'Neighbours' is better than 'Lies'
