I never understood why they had to rehearse Miss You and the like before every tour. While I can understand rehearsing a warhorse that has been rested (see: Gimme Shelter in 89, hadn't been played since 75 I believe), is it really necessary for the boys to rehearse IORR again after playing it every tour for the past 17 years? If anything, they should be playing the Love You Live (or Ya Ya's, or Still Life, etc) versions of these songs to recapture the rocking live feel that many of the warhorses once had.
I think it's mostly the case that they don't rehearse the warhorses all that much -- at least that's what I remember from Shidoobee reports from Toronto '02. They basically concentrate on reviving rusty songs or unearthing never-played ones.
But then, since they're technically still just coming off a layoff, as opposed to kicking off a brand-new tour, I doubt they're gonna reinvent the wheel. |

It's always a good thing when they spend more than a few days in England together. That's usually when they decide to do good things and work more seriously with each other. If only Keith would move back. |
