Daethgod now, gettng away from this Aussie ticket debacle...
me and my girl are getting married this August, and we are keen to use some Stones songs in the wedding.
Ideas so far include :

Me waiting for her arrival in church : Say You Will - Mick

Leaving the Church - Happy - Bruce Springsteen (from Tracks)

Arrival at function - Mystifies Me - Ronald Wood

First song - Keys To Your Love - Stones

other song ideas :

Finn Brothers - Luckiest Man Alive
Brooks & Dunn-There Ain't Nothing About You
Keef - Happy
Keef - Nearne
ss of You
Sade - By Your Side

anyone got any ideas ?

Also for the tables, instead of telling peeps where to sit, I was thinking of letting people sit where they want, but on certain tables all named after Stones albums.
eg. Bridges to Babylon - Darcy, Troy, Sarah, Rob, Ian, Kylie
Exile on Main Street - Jan, Ben, Tony etc

and so on ..
is this tacky or will it be kinda cool ?

MrPleasant Don't make me think, man; otherwise I shall be resentful.

Happy 'locking', though. From the far side of the world.

RSRTG Getting married hey Daeth???

Well my first song from me to you would be 'Worried about you'

You could also have 'Fool to cry' played.....

I'm anti-marriage so I shouldnt be saying anything other than goodluck.

I'm not waiting on a lady....I'm just waiting on a friend.....

Yes, you could. But your original plan isn't bad, IMO. (Look: if there's plenty of ice for everyone, nothing can go wrong.)

StickyFishFingers Way to go Daeth, congratulations mate.

When me and my wife got married we had a wedding song each - I picked Alice Cooper's 'You & Me' & she chose John Denver's 'Annie's song', doh.

How about the Skyhook's 'All my friends are getting married' - i suspect that one gets played at a lot of weddings.

I reckon Cheap Trick's 'If you want my love' is a great wedding song & the girlies love it.

G. The Cock First of all, good luck to you and your girl Deathgod!

I'm gonna marry my girl in september this year and our wedding song will be "You Are The Light" by Lone Justice/Maria McKee.
Our first dance will be "Sea Of Love" (Phil Phillips) followed by "You Never Can Tell" (remember Pulp Fiction?!).
Then comes the first Stones tune, not yet sure which one, I'm preferring "Satisfaction", my girl wants "Star Star" - not kidding.

Lazy Bones Firstly, Daethgod, congrats!

I still recall the picture you posted with your, then, girlfriend and your father from a Stones show shortly before he passed. I trust all is well. I can imagine this tour will provide some good memories for you.

May I recommend "Sweethearts Together". Not the greatest of ballads, but certainly provides some appropriate lyrics for such an occasion.

All the best...

56DeSoto I always partial to You Got the Silver for these sort of situations.

Wow - how frighteningly incestual, yet classy at the same time!

was your wedding reception held at the Tau Kappa Epsilon frat house?
Or at Leos Bar & Grill in Romeoville?

Appparently voodoopug wasn't kicked out of his TKE house, the way I and my TKE fraternity brothers were. The administration at my college apparently did not like the Stones music that the fraters would blare from our house, or so we say.

Congratulations on finding True Love! Maybe you live happily ever after!

P.S. You might want to discuss your wedding plans with your fiancee? It's her wedding, too!

P.S.S. From a woman's perspective: The church ceremony should be traditional and serious! You are promising each other eternal love in front of God, your entire family and friends! The music should be simple and live!

It's during the reception that you can get creative! You can do whatever you want! It's your party! There are no rules!

Riffhard Congrats! Ya gotta have little soul in the mix, right? How 'bout Al Green's Let's Stay Together? Great tune, and chicks seem to dig the sentiment of it. It was the song that the wife and I danced to at our wedding. Ofcourse,we are divorced now so....but still it's good tune.

Good luck!

Daethgod Hey LazyBones
My Dad is actually OK !
he had a triple bypass, all happened very fast and he is now ok, just got a bit of asthma bought on by the op.
He is coming along to the Melbourne show, Sec C Row K, 10 seats from Keef, 4 seats from catwalk !

I asked him today which young Aussie band he would love to see support the Stones (and having played him Airborne a few months ago) he said Airborne, and was stoked when I told him they were locked in.
Thanks for the good vibes man, i will post some more pics aftre we get jiggy in froont of Keith

gorda Some more tips!

THE CAKE!

The cake is very important, because it will be in the photographs of your wedding album! So, it has to look good!

If you want to save money, you can buy a small wedding cake for the photographs! And, keep large sheet cakes in the back for all your guests!

gorda You know what else is cool about getting married?

You get to register at a store! Or even better several stores! Before, people used to register at only one department store, now everyone registers at several places!

It's so cool! You get one of those "thingies" and go around zapping everything you want in the store! And, hopefully someone from your family or friends will buy it for you!

I wish I was getting married! I WANT PRESENTS!
