ResidentMule oh yeah, LazyBones - have you heard anything more about the new Warren Haynes album? last I heard was about a year ago. I'm hoping it hasn't been scrapped or anything, but I'm hearing more about a new Mule record for fall, so I'd put that ahead of his solo stuff

I love Cracker but i fear that Lowery may be steering them into a bad direction. A friend of mine recently downloaded a few new songs they released on the website and they were very slow and "adult contemporary-esque". They were just credited to Lowery though and not Cracker so maybe they won't be on the new album. Still love the band though: saw them in Charlotte last June and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Jumacfly i know their last records were a best of and a country cd, i think they re a very good and underrated band but should come back to rock n roll, their speciallity, like on forever for example...
03-04-04 01:53 PM
HardKnoxDurtySox I kinda liked the country record. As far as other albums I'm looking forward to this year, you all have pretty much touched on most of them already. I'm also looking forward to a new Juliana Hatfield album.

not that i take anything too seriously that comes out of the mouth of vedder or out of the pages of rolling stone. but it does seem that pete has decided to let rog pick up some extra royalty checks.

The new Lou Reed double live CD "Animal Serinade" recorded at the Wiltern Theatre last year. The entire show - should be brilliant!!!

Dylan Live '64 and Clapton's Me & Mr Johnson will be high on the list too!!

Cheers,

Actually , I recommend reading this week's " Uncut " Magazine featuring the " NME Originals " on THE WHO . I believe THE BEATLES were featured by the very same magazine last year but I wonder why the Rolling Stones have yet to receive their special " NME Originals " piece ?!?!?!?!

Anyway ..............................................

Looking at all of those archival interviews and reviews is enough to make a fan of Rock and Roll salivate , especially when they skewer an album that years later is considered a " Classic " ( Example : Tommy ) !!!!!!!

What is absolutely Priceless , though , is the journalistic take on " Face Dances " and " It's Hard " . Man are those critics hard on " The Petey " --- no wonder the guy quit writing for the band ( Your young Joey " borrowed " some choice nuggets for his review of the Maxlugar Manifesto [ see other thread ] . Looking back now , nobody at the time was writing anything better in the early ' 80's other than THE CLASH and they broke up the very same year as THE WHO !!!!!!!

Oh , THE STONES went on to make " Dirty Work " -- Go figure !!!!

" Stones Rule You Bastards !!!! "

I've read that it's a live album (originally, I thought it was studio) to be released 20th April on ATO Records.

Gazza The Stones - MAN!

The next instalment of Johnny Cash's "American recordings" (he cut about 60 more songs last summer)

I would say Dylan's "live 1964" CD this month but Ive had a bootleg of it for about 20 years! Its worth getting though, and if anyone thinks Bob's a bit of a miserable ol' goat sometimes, some of the stuff on this is laugh out loud material.

The Who!!!
