I like the avatar. Captain Beefheart did some great stuff.

dkmonroe I don't think Daryl Jones is neccessarily superior to Wyman technically. Wyman just has a more antiquated style, which probably suits the Stones better. I've not heard anything by Jones that made me think he was an outstanding technician on the bass.

Bovine49 Wyman was more cool just from the way he holds his bass!

Wyman fit the Stones perfectly and they have never achievwed that sound since he left. Darly is technically better and very
good, but he does not have those little nuances that Keith, Charlie and Bill had in their prime.

Well said, now I don't have to respond...

Bill in 78 & 81, was magnifico....

Ten Thousand Motels Bill is an asshole. He quit. He let us down. He let the Stones down. Charlie didn't. He never got royalties either...but he's a drummer....and Bill was "only" the bass player. Goddam sad if you ask me. ABB would have been alot better with Bill. Take your ball and go home Bill. Mick Taylor was never a real Rolling Stone anyway....but he could have been. I miss him too.
