Topic: Forget the TOP 5...what makes your"6-10 list" ? Return to archive Page: 1 2
February 15th, 2006 01:39 PM
Paranoid_Android OK...arguably...the top 5 Stones Cds are (in no order) Let It Blled, Exile, BBanquet, IORR, Goat's Head Soup...

Let's all PRETEND that we agree on that...what would the next 5 be?

Also...feel free to mention the Bottom CD...and why it's is on your worst.

I'll Start...Flowers...Buttons...Undercover, Emo Rescue, and Black & Blue

WORST...STEELE WHEELS...cant explain it...but this cd just NEVER did anything for me...worse than Dirty Work

Break The Spell Your top 5 would be mine as well with Sticky Fingers replacing IORR, here's what I'd rate 6-10:

6 - Tattoo You
7 - The Rolling Stones Now!
8 - Some Girls
9 - Black and Blue
10 - Steel Wheels

I don't hate any album, but my least favorite is probably "Emotional Rescue", if "Claudine" had been on that album as the band wanted, it would have been a much stronger album.

I know, what's up with that?

Is it uncool to admit that Sticky Fingers is a great album? Is that only a favorite for non-hardcore fans?

Yeesh.

speedfreakjive I still can't decide whether Sticky Fingers is a better 'album' as Exile, its certainly more a more of a 'lets get to it, lets not f*ck around' album, but it lacks the magical atmospheric sonics and vibe of Exile....................

Peeps, when will you all realise that Some Girls is better than Beggars Banquet?

Never?
I have sadly never seen a bigger example of a nose-dive for any album that was once a top-seller + critically acclaimed than Some Girls. Why the fuck does Tattoo You always rank higher? Especially whenever someone does a Best Album poll?
People keep bitching about Start Me Up, but they are all slaves to it as much as the general population is.

I suspect that the criminal underrating of SG has something to do with the fact that it's pretty much all Mick. He's what makes it, but we know Mick won't get respect as a songwriter until he's spent a decade 6 feet under.

Tattoo You is at #6 for me. I reckon that on SG though, that Keith did his half. Rhythm guitars are prominent in most of the tracks, and his riffs make Shattered, B o B, and Respectable, not to mention BTMMR!
