Daethgod Givin Up - The Darkness
best anti drug song ever !

My mamma wants to know
Where I'm spending all my dough
Honey, all she does is nag, nag, nag
But I won't apologise
I'd inject into my eyes
If there was nowhere else to stick my skag

All I want is brown
And I'm going into town
Shooting up as soon as I'm back
My friends have got some good shit
All I want is some of it
Gimme, gimme, gimme that smack

Well I've ruined nearly all of my veins
Sticking that fucking shit into my arms

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck

Getting off my face
There's a dragon I must chase
Honey, I'm the scourge of all mankind
And everyone but me
Is destined just to be
Slaves to the remorseless grind

But I found myself an easy way out
Sticking that fucking shit into my arms
Into my arms

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Givin' up, givin' up givin' a fuck

Gazza Hot White Cum by Liz Phair

Ventura by Lucinda Williams

Dirty Life and Times by Warren Zevon

New Killer Star by David Bowie

also recommended : Bowie's GREAT cover of "Waterloo Sunset". I think it was only a bonus track on a single,so it may be from 2004. I downloaded it after hearing it on the radio 2 weeks ago.

(Johnny Cash's American recordings IV came out at the end of 2002 and the Unearthed boxed set isnt out in the UK until next week otherwise he'd be on this list)

best track of the year : Battle Without Honour of Humanity by Hotei Tomayasu.

A serious contender for the best instrumental of all time.

I'm not sure if its a track that was first released in 2003 but it popped up on the "Kill Bill Vol.1" soundtrack. If youve seen the teaser trailers and then seen the film, you wont forget it once youve heard it. Where QT (and Lawrence Bender - the guy who does a lot of the music supervision for his soundtracks) unearths these lost gems from is beyond me. When you hear this, you just wanna pick up a giant sword and start swinging.

glencar 7 Nation Army of what I've seen mentioned. "Hurt" by Johnny Cash is quite good but may have been 2002.

Trey Krimsin My fave songs of 2003?

Any song on Elephant by the White Stripes
Hey Ya & The Way You Move - Outkast
Any song on Get Born by Jet
Clocks by Coldplay
And since it was re-released in 2003, any song off of Electric Warrior by T. Rex
02-12-04 01:12 AM
corgi37 "Slow", Kylie Minogue. Hate the song, but everytime i hear it, it reminds me of the clip, which reminds me how damn perfect her feet are.

But, my fave song? "Jo Disco", one i made myself, using WAV quotes from Jo Guest. I might get broadband in the next week or two, then i'll get a site going, and ya'll can listen to it. My second fave would have been "Dawn of the Dead", a track i have been fiddling with for over 12 months. And now, the film is coming out! I want it known, i influenced them, not the other way around.

P.S. Crazy in love & 7 nation army are pretty groovy.

glencar And she's Foxxy Cleopatra to boot!
02-12-04 12:31 PM
Nasty Habits That Beyonce and Outkast unleashed stellar singles this year is a fact that cannot be denied, Ronnie!

Good call on "Ventura", Gazza. World without Tears was the finest major label release I heard last year.

I am addicted to that new Al Green album and might actually require intervention, fellows. . .

02-12-04 12:47 PM
Factory Girl Alex, you think Bey's booty is very hot.

Please don't confuse let the party in your trousers confuse you.

Gazza >Maybe, im oldfashion, but i dont know, man, its fuckin hip-hop , how can you listen that... I am very angry because they are using name RNB, but thats not Ryhtm'n'blues, i love real RNB, how Beyonce can be RNB???

labels are meaningless. Theres people I know who dont consider bands like the Stones rock 'n' roll because they can't see past Elvis and Eddie Cochran etc. Its ridiculous to say that if you can listen to ONE style of music you shouldnt be able to appreciate a very different style.

There's only two types of music. 1) Good music and 2) Bad music.

"Crazy In Love" IMO falls into the first category without any doubt.
