Pat is an asshole... The thing i hate most is how awful he makes america look. And no one says that about him, he's a leader and his words are heard around the globe. He should get the fury directed like Cindy Sheehan does, at least she is coming from a place we can understand, Pat is just hateful and his words get Americans killed, that much I know! |

The United Nations, -a more pathetic organization you cannot find - has done little to nothing to stop Iran from developing nuclear capability. Israel has plans ready to bomb Iran - much like they did with Iraq decades ago.
If Israel does not move with great care, much of the world will be put in great danger, to say nothing of Israel itself. Sharon was a great guiding force for his nation. With that force now diminished, that nation is in great peril. |

" The chances of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon recovering from his massive stroke became even more remote Friday after doctors reported more bleeding in his brain.
Surgeons operated on the 77-year-old premier for five hours Friday to remove the blood and relieve swelling in his brain — life-threatening complications that, while not unexpected, make the prospect of survival ever slimmer, experts say.
"It sounds like a last desperate attempt to salvage something, but the prognosis must now be terrible," said Dr. Anthony Rudd, a stroke specialist at St. Thomas' Hospital in London.
Dr. Shlomo Mor-Yosef, director of Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, said Sharon showed "significant improvement" after Friday's surgery but remained in serious condition. Doctors stopped the bleeding and relieved the pressure inside Sharon's skull, but the premier will remain in a medically induced coma until Sunday.
Sharon's medical crisis began Dec. 18, when he suffered a minor stroke caused by a blood clot traveling from his heart to his brain. In treating that stroke, doctors discovered a small hole in Sharon's heart, a birth defect they planned to fix because they believed it may have caused the stroke.
Sharon was prescribed a strong blood thinner after the initial stroke in preparation for the procedure to repair the hole, which was to take place Thursday.
But Wednesday night, he suffered a massive stroke when a blood vessel on the right side of his brain burst. It was unclear whether the blood vessel that broke was in the area of the brain weakened by the clot-related stroke, but such an occurrence is not uncommon.
Doctors worked through the night Wednesday to stop the bleeding and remove the blood from his head. Since then, they have kept Sharon on a respirator, heavily sedated and anesthetized to help his brain recover.
They said Thursday they plan to wean him off the drugs by the end of the weekend, when they will be able to assess the extent of brain damage from the stroke and determine whether he is unconscious simply because of the medication or in a coma because of the stroke.
On Friday morning, Sharon's doctors said brain scans revealed increased pressure in the head, more bleeding and a "small expansion of one of the brain's lobes."
Bleeding from a stroke can interfere with the natural drainage of the fluid that bathes the brain. That can cause swelling.
In Friday's five-hour operation, surgeons removed blood and relieved the swelling by inserting a thin tube into his brain.
"One feels slightly more positive about the outcome because some of the problems have been able to be reversed, but the underlying problem remains, he still had further bleeding and that doesn't change the prognosis, which still looks dire," Rudd said.
Sharon's doctors said a brain scan after the latest operation showed improvements but that his condition remained nonetheless serious.
A CT scan shows the structure of the brain, not its function. The improvement referred to by Sharon's doctors likely applies to the reduction of swelling seen in the earlier scan, Rudd said.
It is too early to tell how Sharon's brain function has been affected, experts said.
It was unclear whether the new bleeding was from a second rupture of the same blood vessel that caused the original massive stroke or a break in another vessel, which would constitute a new stroke.
New bleeding from the stroke-causing blood vessel in the first few days after a hemorrhagic stroke is a common cause of death in patients. Another chief killer of such patients is swelling of the brain."

I am very sad........I, like Sharon am a life-time Zionist, but am willing to concede land for peace. Why can't they stop killing us? We gave back Sinai, Gazza, and other strategic areas...We simply can't give back Golan as Syria would have us at their peril. Why is a tiny country hated so much? We seek peace and co-existence, while others seek our annihilation.

oh, joshie, its the age old problem of poverty. there are too many poor and destitute palestinians who blame israel, rightly or wrongly, for the fact that they live in a shack the size of your tool shed with three generations of their family. desperate men strap bombs to their chest and try to take innocents with them.
frankly, i blame the religious right on both sides.
even i will give sharon credit - his willingness to work for peace the last few years makes me say.....
