That is a cool picture!! Mick with a plastic fork in his lapel, that is funny!
And they sure do have very samiliar expressions, wonder why.
Well I just remembered something. If anyone sees more of those Beggars
Banquet pictures, Brian has a bottle of Vodka(?) in the pocket of his suit
coat!! It is the same one I guess where he is walking down the stairs with it
in his right hand and a "stick like object" in the other, he looks real blurry-
eyed.
I wonder if Mick Jagger still smokes? |

If my memory serves me it is at Brian's home sometime before he moved into
Cotchford Farm. I think Gered Mankowitz took that picture. It may be the one
where he and Anita lived for a while, there were so many places Brian lived
before he bought CF. This photo and others like it were taken with overhead
shots. I guess he is on his bed maybe? I believe in Nicholas Fitzgerald's book
there is a drawing of Brian's loft where one had to climb up a rope to get to
the bedroom. But I don't know if this is where this was taken.
If anyone knows more info please tell. Thanks.
LOVE YOU S&K!!!!

Dear S&K,
Yes I knew it was taken at one of his flats. Just could not remember which one.
I thought Mankowitz took it? He is looking at what appears to be pictures of
when they were in Ireland judging by one of the pictures he is not holding.
Bill's book is really good. Of course it is Bill's experiences. I loved it. Stone
Alone is good too. I believe Bill wanted to say a lot more but could not due to
the consequences. Did Mick Taylor ever write a book on his life with the Stones?
Of all the Stones books Bill's, Alan Craysons, Anna (when she lived with Brian)
and very few others are straight from the hip, in my humble opinion. The rest
seem to repeat what each other wrote.
LOVE YOU S&K!!!

Ironic considering Brian's girlfriend, Linda Lawrence, ended up with Donovan. |

I'm sorry.. I didn't see your question. Yes it is Donovan. The caption is as follows: "Brian was giving an interview for Radio Luxembourg at their studios in Hertford Street where he met Donovan, who was then touted as Britain's answer to Bob Dylan. Although they each had separate interviews, I took this picture of them together with songwriter and money-maker Geoff Stephens." ~ Dezo Hoffmann
I just got in from some Christmas shopping and man, I despise this time of year just because of all of it... the crowds, the traffic, the generic Christman music, and having to make all these decisions and choices. I'm still not finished and to think that we still have to get a tree and decorate it, wrap gifts, clean house and make Christmas dnner. Enough to drive one crazy! I'm going to have to get my valium script filled. On top of it all, I had to take one of my cats (Checkers) to the vet for the scisscors. I hated to do this to the poor little fella, but I guess it's the right thing to do.
ANYHOW, I was at the local music shop and flipped through Donovan's book. The thought crossed my mind to buy it but in the end I didn't. It was quite cheap, only $8 hardback. How did they meet? The picture is interesting considering it is among the first photos of when the two met. That's one of the things I really liked about Brian. He was always so interested in other musicians and always reaching out to become a better one himself.

Yes, Gered Mankowitz is the photographer. It was taken during the summer of 1966 so I presume that he was still with Anita and Keith was living with them? I'm awful with times and dates and corresponding events so I'm not much help, unfortunately.
I don't know. I started to read Bill's books but. I don't know, he jsut seemed to get caught up in too much detail, which isn't a bad thing, just not for me. Maybe I'll give it another shot. I haven't read Clayson's book on Brian. I'll have to get it. I really didn't like Anna's book at all. I still don't get the fact that there isn't one photo of the two together. If there is, I'd like to see it/them. My favourite is Mandy Aftel's, I guess because it was the first written about Brian.
I wish Mick Taylor would write a book. I'd be the first in line to buy it. The stories he could tell. I met him once and he was very, very nice. I didn't make his show until the last song, which was CYHMK. He was a bit chunky but not like he is now. He was very soft spoken and had that charming British accent.

Yes Bill does go into details about their salaries, and what got me was how
much he had in his bank account. He is very meticulous about details, I think
he would be great here at the IRS!! He keeps everything from what I have read.
Brian and Linda Lawrence went for a year or so, and then he went to Anita.
He was with Anita from 9-65 to 2-67 but they did not move in together until
the summer of 1966. And of course they were not monogamous. I never did
understand that, except she was his favorite girlfriend I guess. When they
were in LA they went out together but he also went out cruisin' too with
his friends I guess. I wonder if Anita still has that Onyx ring he gave her?
I guess someone has Brian's? She should have stated "Diamonds are a girl's
best friend", not an engagement ring but a nice dinner ring. Keith gave her
all kinds of jewelry and clothes. Must be nice. Interesting living with the
Rolling Stones.
LOVE YOU S&K!!!
