IMO The Stones should start a new album rather than tour Asia later on....Geeze. They could get started after the holidays in January. They could tour Asia after The States tour next fall. Kinda having their cake and we get ours.
Screw the Shine a Light promo tour idea. Who needs it? I want a new album in a year. Just what would be nice...

Ah, i knew this is what you meant.
Fuck the rest of the world and tour America. Typical Yank.
It's coming my friend. The end is coming. End of times. The Rapture is soon upon the U.S. A female Prez? Or a black one? Which one would get shot first?
The new Atlantis will soon sink and be replaced by those cheeful little Chinese.
In 15 years, you (in Mandarin) will be pining:
"Oh, they alway play Northern gulags. Why wont they play in Southern gulags?"

Look I don't care where they start the tour. Just put out an album is all I am saying. You folks had last viewing of them anyway so what are you crying about?

Umm....Corgi lives in Australia which had two Stones shows all tour (In April 2006) - and they've toured America since then. In fact theyve played about 75 shows since they were last in Australia.
North America had over 80 shows and four separate visits. Europe had 49 shows in two visits. Asia had six - 5 of them in Japan.
But sure, no one else deserves a few shows, right?
Buy a passport.
PS - Put out an album? What's the point? They wont play any songs from it anyway. The sort of 'fans' they're so determined to 'cater for' aren't interested.

Bro. I will be honest in saying, I could care less where they start the tour or how many shows they do as long as they get here.... Hell... go ahead and tour Europe first for all I care and do 100 straight shows. It makes no difference to me what-so-ever Gazza honest. As long as I get something from them in the studio and a show to go to I could care less. Sorry Corgi got two shows. BUT...hey, two shows is better than no shows right?
*I couldn't even see them this ENTIRE tour due to finance issues while I was away at school. Had to bite the bullet and eat while I was going to school. I loved this album. I seen them on the news in Arizona realizing I was missing it. My buddies back home said they were great. Guess what, I did not cry.

Yelp-Yelp-Yelp. All everyone did was complain that there was no studio album in a long, long, time (me included). Then they gave you one, just as you wanted with great results, and right on the mark like you ordered. Those so called fans they catered to last time out were fans like you and I who just wanted a stripped down harder core Rolling Stones album. We got it. Now you say "eh...why bother?"
I realize they didn't play much at all on tour from it but hey they did play some tunes and the album got nuts. I will keep my mouth shut about it and ask for another. I say do the same for once

What on earth are you talking about? I loved the album and wanted to hear them play more songs from it. After a few months (if you followed the tour at all) it was quite obvious the Stones didnt give a fuck. I actually saw a show where they didnt play a single song from it. (It was still a great show but it merely proved that theyre a nostalgia act now and pretty much nothing else)
If the STONES (not the fans) dont give a fuck about performing new material then it defeats the purpose of them bothering to make a new album and the touring 'behind' it.
PS - I hope you get to see some shows in 2008. Its too bad you had to miss an entire tour.

How much of his time do you think Mick spends on songwriting?...Does he take serious input from anyone?...I can't imagine that there was anyone out there advising him the Biggest Mistake and Sweet Neocon were gonna shake the world...then again, someone's responsible for Gomper |

Quite true. But what scares most of us even more than B. Hussien Obama is that Shrill Harridan getting near the Oval Office again. So, he's the lesser of 2 evils. And he's certainly better than J. Edwards. |

I think latter-day Mick - and probably young Mick, too, but to a lesser extent - is one of those insanely well-organized workaholics, like a Fortune 50 CEO. He probably has "songwriting" scheduled into his day-planner. That's the impression "Being Mick" left, anyway.
The problem with that approach is that, while you be productive, you may not be inspired. |

As much as I hate it, I must admit I can't see the point of them recording another album at this point, ABB was bland enough as it is after an 8 year hiatus.
The money and adulation from the tours is just too strong of a magnet...almost wish something would prevent them from touring, but then that would likely mean ill health so can't really wish for that either. Maybe some new law banning world tours for dudes over 65! |

Springsteen will probably play far more shows in the north east of the US in 2008 than the Stones will, and as they'll be mostly in stadiums, you'll have little problem getting a ticket.
You could probably see about 5 or 6 of them for the price of a half decent Stones ticket though, thats the problem. |

I do not know why they did not do more songs from it. Maybe because it just sold lousy and they figured why bother on this particular album?
What I do know is this is the first time they ever blew an album off. They usually do two, sometimes three songs a night from their new releases. This time they didn't.
*A Bigger Bang has had a shroud of mystery behind it from day one. In the recording prcedures, the lack of advertisement for the album even though it seemed very strong as an album, and as well The Stones reluctance to play much from it on tour even though they all were pleased with the album?
BUT that does not mean I do not want them, or even give a hoot about them putting out another ablum? Why would it? Especially after how happy I was with A Bigger Bang. My only hope is that they can sound "as good" as the numbers off of a Bigger Bang. And my hope is they will play about three tunes from their next album on tour almost every night. No need for ALL warhorses next time.
BTW. How much substance do you think there is to shows in 2008 here in the States? I am still doubting it. I am very suprised The Stones are very much possibly going to tour Asia now.
My question again is why? For what and based on what?
The challenge of touring?-ah. no. They just toured for two years and I am shocked they would consider continuing this soon.
The Money?- Sure the money is always nice. But seriously, they just made LOADS. ABB is the highest grossing tour in history by far. You would think that at least Charlie would say "hey, I want some time off. I am good for now". In my eyes Charlie is nowhere near the type of dude that is all about quitting. If he was he would of a long time ago. He is still into it very much.
Boredom-No. I am sure they are not bored from not being on tour with The Rolling Stones this damn fast.
I am still at a loss why they want to tour Asia now? It is common understanding that ABB tour is now officially over.
So what is the purpose of a brand new tour this soon with nothing at all to base it on? And of all places to start Asia?
I still don't see any point here////

I would much prefer some vault stuff over a new album - ABB was fun for a while but these days I'd rather spend time listening to their better releases, which includes everything from The Rolling Stones through Steel Wheels (plus B2B). |
