Soldatti From today NY Post:

Keith Richards caught Paris Hilton's singing performance at the opening of Miami club Pawn Shop last Saturday. Hilton sang songs from her new album live on stage. But sadly, the Rolling Stone was in no condition to critique her performance: According to fellow partygoers, the 60-year-old was incoherent and had trouble even standing upright.

Ten Thousand Motels What???!!!! Well at least now he's got a good excuse for being seen at that show.

Yes Ju, actually I think Keith should be banned from the drinking thread, at least until a new studio album is in stores..

gotdablouse Hum...was he just "acting the drunk" or really wasted? I it's the case, what a friggin' liability, how can Mick put up with this type of crap!

SirMuddy It's fun to see how Keith still "scandalise" people...
It was cool when he was young to do that
But now he should stay clean
too old
too rich
People always try to get them stick in an image
Do you think that life is so beautiful
that we should stay clean to watch it die?
Like it or not
cool or not
Sad or not
Keith will always be a rolling stone
he still can't get satisfaction
Sad story I know
a way of life
But each time he take a guitar
he made me cry of joy and lucidity
Life's so weak and we are so fragile
Don't worry for him
he gonna find is way to heaven
cuz he's doing his time in hell
I'm with you keith
even in the hard times
Get a guitar and sing
F**** them all

Soldatti If he continues with that alcholic life-style I don't know how much guitar can play. Let's face it, he is almost 61 years old and the old glory days are gone. He needs take care a little more.
October 10th, 2004 11:59 PM
Zack Keith has always said that unless he keeps busy, he goes downhill into decadence. This is clearly a case of that.

UGot2Rollme 2 thoughts -

I would have gotten shit-faced too if I had to sit through a Paris Hilton performance

alcoholism is a progressive disease and I worry it might swallow Keith if he doesn't stop it
October 11th, 2004 03:58 AM
kahoosier I saw this has a bad sign too, or at least an embarrassing faux pas...and said so first at IORR. Man, people jumped on me right away to lighten up!

We all expect college age kids to run amok. People in their mid-20's still have some growing up to do. Anyone 61 still behaving this way publicly is more sad than anything else. The Licks tour was a lesson in soberity. By all accounts Ronnie started with a bang, but as he allegedly fell of the wagon occaisionally late on, he just fizzled. Keith wants to belive he is indestructible. And toddlers want to believe in sSanta and the Easter bunny.Charlie is better, if there is going to be another tour, I hope Keith gets better.Charlie saught the most aggresive therapy for his disease, Keith needs to fight his, addiction (be it drugs or alcohol.)

SirMuddy Good morning peoples
Sorry if I cannot express myself good in english
I know it's a sad thing to thinkin' 'bout Keith alone drinking
But I understand suffering
Maybe he should quit boozing & doping
But if he don't I'll still love him
Life's an addiction too
Don't you hear his heart crying
Give me little drink
from your loving cup...
Suffering's not uncool
Suffering's is sad
If we have respect for Charlie fight with his Cancer
We should have respect for Keith fight with his own cancer.
That's why I hate to see people
say Keith's uncool
Yep he's loosing his touch
All he want was extasy
but he ain't getting much
just getting off of misery
it seem he lost his touch.
My only pleasure his to see music triumph over that
Just hear Olympia show
Battle of death and Life
Life triumph when Keith sing nearness of you
Life triumph when Jumpin'Jack Flash bang from Paris to my speakers
An old warrior throw in piece
still searching the holy grail
still raise head to say
F*** you Liars
Life should be better than that

I respect suffering
Thank's Keith for the music
you still the soundtrack of my life

Peace people
Jah bless you

Saint Sway well at least thats one event where Paris Hilton wasnt the one falling over drunk
October 11th, 2004 10:31 AM
caro I'm with you, SirMuddy.
I don't like the thought of Keith being too drunk to stand upright (at least on a regular basis), but I don't see how it's an "embarrassing faux-pas".
I'm all for letting him leave that "elegantly wasted" image behind... But don't burden him with the responsibility of serving as an example for redeemed drug-addicts, and don't expect him to live up to the image of a rock-star "growing old gracefully".
If he's really still an alcoholic, then it's sad, but it's not embarrassing.
October 11th, 2004 11:19 AM
SirMuddy Thankx Caro!
You used better words than I
it's more understandable that way!
Now it's time to roll
Jah bless ya sister!

jb What's sad is there was no local announcement here in Miami or I certainly would have used all contacts to get in..In fact my beautiful cousin is a hostess at trendy Crow bar on South Beach and certainly could have helped out...I have noticed the last fews years that Mick and Keith pop up in Miami on occassion and I have yet been able to get a heads up.

Usually the local press will have a blurb about them being seen at a club or something...Like when Mick was filming the atrociously embarrassing "Being Mick" while staying at Lenny Kravitz's house on prestigious Star Island....he was spotted on South beach at the "News Cafe" and abruptly got up and walked to his waiting SUV to avoid reporters...

yeah I know. But these blurbs are usually after the fact. Like with todays story about Keith being at the Paris Hilton show.

trust me, I live in NY. I read about their random appearances the day after it happens all the time

theres never gonna be a day when you read that Mick or Keith will be showing up somewhere the day before it happens. So you shouldnt expect to read "Paris Hilton playing at a local club in Miami. Noted guests include Keith Richards..."

its just not gonna happen

what you need to do - and I dont even know why I'm wasting this much time explaining the obvious - is to sniff out where they might be headed. i.e. a Sheryl Crow club show, a Johnnie Johnson gig, etc

In fact, your previous post was one of the most sensible and eloquent posts I've read in a while -- but I don't want to start a compliment competition :-)

Consider the source. To most onlookers, Keith sounds incoherent even when he's stone cold sober. That really is not that big a deal when you think about it. And I'd take the last comment with a pinch of salt too. How often do you see Keith in a public situation where he's literally legless? Cant think of too many, myself. That remark is standard tabloid fodder.
