" It's an unwritten law in ANY ballpark for its fans NOT to interfere with the ball-in-play...ESPECIALLY if that ball is coming into 'your space' FROM THE OPPOSING TEAM. AND...I can't speak for other ball parks in the country, BUT, here ............. "
Pammy .................I hope that fan did NOT make it home alive -- His FU## UP totally changed the course of the game and ruined EVERYTHING !!!!!

If the Cubs win tonight, "the Guy" will be on every late night talk show and all the news shows talking about his ordeal. But if they lose, he will probably have beer thrown on him wherever he goes. |

The guy did nothing wrong..the ball was out of play and he had a right to try and grab it..... |

Yeah , right ! Wanna grab something ?!?!?!?!

|
|
Some Guy |
True, but if he doesn't try to grab it... the outfielder makes the catch for 2 outs, and this thing is not an issue. |

THAT MUDDER FUCKER COST THE CUBS THE GAME, MAYBE EVEN THE WORLD FUCKING SERIES.
You're letting your emotions get the best of you. Hey, it happens to all of us at times.[lol] But the pure fact is the Cubs lost this game, plain and simple. Prior melted, Farnsworth sucked and the Marlins hit the ball where they ain't. Add in the Gonzalez error and wella!
It was late in the game and most thought the game was all but over. Yogi's, "It ain't over till it's over," is always the rule.
A good playoff team will have moved on by now and gearing up for the final showdown. Facing the fact they didn't finish the Marlins off last night hopefully will give them the mental toughness that's needed to get the 27 outs.
W'ere going to the Show, but it's only the eight inning, Ronnie!

This is Chicago. He should hope all people do is toss beer on him. He has already had multiple death threats.
The Cubs kept him at the Stadium and gave him a change of clothes. No joke
He will have to move |
|
Some Guy |
Wow, I was telling my wife what might happen to him and you confirmed my thoughts. But if the Cubs win all is forgiven, Right? |
|

I'm sure most of the death threats were made before he left the game!! I am amazed at the restraint shown by those around him last night!!

You're right. It really is that simple but when it happens under the microscope of the playoffs, well.....you see what happens.
I'd like to see the Cubs win. The Series against the Sox or Yankees will be great baseball and theatre.

WOw, that makes people good "fans" if they throw beer on him...or it makes them a bigger "fan" if they give him death threats.
Yeah, c'mon, get with it...those people are the real "fans".
It's ok Alex, you didn't drop that grounder..it's ok Mark, Pudge didn't jack you up on that pitch...it's ok Remlinger, you didn't pitch like shit. |

SDH (and other Cubs' fans):
Take it from a Giants fan (hey - it's been 49 years for us too) - You are much better off losing tonight and retaining (even enhancing!) your legacy and identity. A world with a Cubs, Red Sox, White Sox or Giants as the WS champs is not a world I understand. Trust me - it's better for everyone this way.
GO MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 |
