You can hear 30 seconds clips of all the songs on the official page:
http://www.alfiemovie.com/
Click on "Media" and then on options "Soundtrack"
It's a NEW SOLO ALBUM, he sings on ALMOST ALL the tunes and some as "Let's Make It Up" are really good!

There was a little deal about it on Entertainment Tonight that showed Mick singing the new "Alfie" songs. I'm sorry, but they sound just like every song from "Goddess in the Doorway." Mick's voice is just not good on it's own...it belongs with the Stones...like, it just goes with Keith's guitar. I can't explain it. Mick solo just sucks. |

I think the production sounds better on those Alfie tracks than in Goddess.
With the best tracks from Alfie combined with the good ones from Goddess' and the single tracks there would've been quite a good one from Mick. How about an album like this:
1. God Gave Me Everything
2. Blue
3. Old Habits Die Hard (w/Sheryl Crow)
4. Blind Leading The Blind
5. Lucky Day
6. Visions Of Paradise
7. If Things Could Be Different
8. Let's Make It Up
9. Everybody Getting High
10. Too Far Gone
11. Don't Call Me Up
12. Lonely Without You (w/Joss Stone) |

Well the bottom line is that Mick is still working and giving us some new stuff to listen to and I for one am GRATEFUL for that. Besides nothing he'll do and has done can be totally bad to die hards anyway...althoguh Let's Work song came pretty close though...
Now if only Keith stopped playing with himself on tropical islands... |

Wow, check out the Hammond on "Let's Make it Up" is that Billy Preston or what?! That's a nice change from Chuckster's plink plonking for sure! |

Yes it's getting a bit too "mannered" to my taste too, with that "wavering"...pretty pro, but that's not Mick! |

I can't wait to buy this CD! Mick's voice will never waver for those who are true fans. |

Mick's voice does suck. Keith has even said that Mick sings better when/after he's been playing the harmonica. Mick's voice sounds good only with the Stones' music. They just go together naturally. |

No, it doesn't suck. Keith's dull ballads suck but Mick's voice is still in great form. His point about singing after the harmonica is probably true though. |

I said it sucks! It so does! SS will back me up on this.
Keith's singing is good on some songs, because he EMOTES.

I hope so! They need to dump Chuck and bring Billy and the cockdance back.

At least Mick is working, I can't believe his power: solo album on 2001, three new Stones songs on 2002, the Licks tour, the soundtrack...
I'm not saying that ALL is good, I'm saying that he works very hard and almost without rests. I'm proud of he.
I'm sad to say this but Keith is a joke on this last years.
Conclution: I'm buying this Soundtrack and I don't know about that ridiculous Live Licks.

OK, I just got done listening to the clips of the Alfie soundtrack.
I'll be first in line for Rock and Roll Circus on DVD. I'll let Alfie sit in the bin.
>SS will back me up on this.<
I most certainly will. Dogshit in the Doorway.

I guess it's safe to say that Mick has found his nitch: writing songs for movies. It all makes sense now. "Keys To Your Love" is playing now and you could also throw this fucking gem on that Alfie soundtrack too. Mick is getting too corny.
I will agree that he IS keeping busy. And for that I pat him on the back...but the quality of stuff is quite mediocre. |

Thank you, SS. Mick's solo shit sucks. It's something about his voice...it's a good thing too...it's like how ONLY he can sing those Stones songs...and when someone else attemps to, it just doesn't work, or it just sounds OK. |

Call me crazy but I wonder if I don't hear Keith playing some lead on one of the tracks! I'll take another listen...Maybe that's why he went to France in May, or was it June? |

No, it's supposedly Dave Stewart, formerly of the Eurythmics, on guitar. |

Right but does it mean they're the only musicians on there? hum...judging by the credits I guess! Anyway the track is "Counting the Days", check out the last few seconds, is that Keith or what ?! |

I have not heard that song. But I really don't think Keith collaborated with Mick on this "Alfie" project. That is not Keith's style. |
