Closed the bar last night with Darryl and Blondie
Lots of good stories
Also met George Lucas and talked about Altamont with him
And for some reason, met Bill O'Reilly also

Yes. Tele, and now LJ, has let us both down.....again! Thankfully there will be no show in Buffalo....AGAIN, and we would not be forced to make the tough decision whether or not to pass info on to LJ!!!

for my baby pam:

It wasn't exactly bargin hunting with Charlie but it was an an adventure
Weird night
It was a Monday night so it was pretty dead everywhere
Went to hotel bar A and Ann Coulter was sitting in there with a group but no Stones
Walking out I saw Bill O'Reilly walking down the hall by himself to check in so I stopped and talked to him for a while. He and my brother know each other so at least I had something to talk about.
Went to hotel B and saw Darryl walking down the hall by himself so I talked to him for a while. At least I knew where they were staying.
So then I get on the elevator and George Lucas gets in with me. So it is the two of us riding up and I asked him about being a camerman at Altamont. Very cool guy. We walked down the hall and talked about Altamont for some time. I said "can I ask you a question" and he probably thought I was some Star Wars dork going to ask about Luke Skywalker or something. He seemed releived to talk about something else. Real nice guy. I told him The Stones were staying at the hotel and he was glad to know that. He had a bid ass pizza with him
So then I went into the bar and sat next to Darryl and we started talking and then Blondie came up and the three of us sat there for two hours drinking martini's
They told me about Regina and Halifax. We talked about the forecast for Chicago and they are well aware it is going to be freezing
They were telling me how hard it is to play when it is that cold out. Blondie was saying in Halifax the rain was coming down sideways.
Darryl was saying when the fireworks go off they get a huge blast of heat that almost burns them. He was saying in Regina the stage under him was shaking the whole show and he thought it was going to blow up
I asked about Keiths fingers and they said they are really affected by the cold with his arthritis. Blondie was saying on "Satisfaction" his finger got stuck in a bar chord
They said it is really cold on stage and that they were silk long johns
So the bar is dead and Darryl, Blondie, myself and one of Darryl's buddies are sitting at the end of the bar like it is a neighborhood tavern
Darryl was telling me about Montana and how they stayed at a ranch. They went trap shooting and fishing. He said it was like "The River Runs Through It" He was also telling me he thought some of the people in Regina were racist as the workers at the hotel were giving he and Bernard & Lisa dirty looks. Then we talked about racism for about 20 minutes.
I told him it probably is because in Regina they haven't seen too many black people and he agreed
Then Blondie get out a napkin and tells us all about
S. Africa and apartheid (sp) for about half an hour and again we talked about racism and cultures. Very cool
Darryl is a super cool guy and very smart. Blondie has his moments but then slips into the Keith mumble where you can't understand what he is saying
Darryl told me Blondie has a "sweet ass 24yr old daughter"
Then Blondie lost his cell phone and we spend 5 minutes looking for that
Anyway, we had about 3 or 4 martini's and just sat there at the corner of the bar and shot the shit
Blondie was caughing all over me so I gave him a stack of bar napkins and said "dude, please"
Some of the horn section came in and Bernard stopped by
They said they weren't too excited about playing in Hawaii due to flight time
So last call came at 2:00am and we shook hands and I told them to have a great show
Strange they never asked who I was and just included me in their group. I asked the bartender if she knew who they were and she said yes and if "the others" come down they have a private room we could all go into if we wanted
Fun night
Really strange that there were hardly any people out but I run into Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, George Lucas all by themselves then close the bar with those two
