unbelieveable. i'm working out in jazzercise and we're cooling down to the final step aerobics tune. jazzercis is a concept work out geared toward women and the workouts are done to top 40 tunes in the genres of rock, r&b, blues, jazz and country. i might add that most of the women are between 45 and 65. one place i can go and feel like a spring chicken...
anyway this r&b tune comes on and someone asks, "who is singing that song?" personally i thought it sounded like anastasia. but no! the jazzer"queen" instructor looks at the cd and says, some guy i never heard of named bill wyman and the rhythm kings! whose that? well naturally after class i filled her in and she said, well we do 4 routines off this CD and she produces "Groovin". i was flabbergasted. not once in 10 years have i heard a mainstream rolling stones tune--but here was bill wyman with the rhythm kings. this shocked me into posting again! at least it gave me a chance to get hot and sweaty with bill. ;-) |

North side , east side
Little Willy, Willy wears the crown
he's the king around town
Dancing, glancing
Willy drives them silly
With his star shoe shimmy shuffle down
Way past one, and feeling allright
'Cos with little Willy round
They can last all night
Hey down, stay down, stay down down
'Cos little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
Up town, down town
Little Willy, Willy drives them wild
With his run-around style
Inside, outside
Willy sends them silly
With his star-shine shimmy shuffle smile
Mama done chase Willy down through the hall
But laugh, Willy laugh, he don't care at all
Hey down, stay down, stay down, down
'Cos little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go, try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't
Willy won't, Willy won't
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
Little Willy, Willy won't go home
But you can't push Willy round
Willy won't go
Try tellin' everybody but, oh no
Little Willy, Willy won't go home

I once had to pick up my wife while she was at a work out at the local YMCA. I accidentaly walked into a Jazzercise class instead of my wife's class.
It was NOT pretty. I had nightmares for a week. 25 grandmothers in leotards, heaving and sweaty.....the memory chills my blood.
Jaxxy, you are a brave woman. You do not belong in a Jazzercise class.
Also...Bill doesn't sing lead with the Rythmn Kings. That was probably Albert Lee that you heard crooning. |

(did you know charlie once had a pet pig named "billy" who they kept in the house until he got too big? me thinks shirley named him "billy!!!)
it's a good band, though. albert lee is awesome and georgie fame rocks the house down! |

You've got a choice between:
Adrian Byron Burns Tell you a Secret
Beverley Skeete Groovin'; I Put a Spell on You; I Want to Be Evil; Oh Baby; Yesterdays
Georgie Fame Rough Cut Diamond; Can't Get My Rest at Night; Tomorrow Night; Rhythm King; Streamline Woman
Albert Lee Mood Swing
Gary Brooker Hole in the Wall; Daydream
The last time I saw them Bill sang Si, si etc. He said he didn't want to - the others made him do it .

I wish I could Jazzercise but my doctors have advised against it as it could have serious repurcussions due to me being diagnosed with the following :
Irritable bowel Syndrome ( **Phew ** )
Shy Bladder Syndrome
Bell's Palsey ( Advanced )
Also, in all seriousness, I think I may have MS or , God forbid , ALS(Lou Gherigs disease) as I have experienced numbness and tingling for over 3 months!!! Oh , and I also have blood in me urine AND stool .
Developing ...........................literally

>>ha! i am often told this...and not only because of my workout choices-- YIKES. but believe it or not, its a decent braindead workout since the song they play is consistently associated with the same step or weight routine. however, i would agree the view is quite scary. i don't look too hard. but i CAN feel young and thin in that crowd, even tho i know i am not young and also a bit overweight.
Also...Bill doesn't sing lead with the Rythmn Kings. That was probably Albert Lee that you heard crooning.
>>according to the cd notes jazzer"queen" gave me, Graham Bread is credited with the lead vocals on all but one of these14 tunes. the other lead vocal credited is Henry Spinetti on the tune "mood swing"

Hey Jaxx!! Great story. I believe there was only one Stones tune I ever heard at Jazzercise, and that was them doing The Last Time--a weight or ab routine, I forget. BIll Wyman and the Rythem Kings? Holy shit!!--is this a new CD?? Corporate Jazz. must have some new people choosing music/choreography.
Oh Sir Stonesalot--you would have LOVED Vermont Jazzercise classes. Full of hot bitches who one by one turned gay!! I couldnt believe it--I even roomed with one of them when we took a routine on the road. I had no idea she was gay. And I have really acute gaydar, so I was blown away by the sudden "switching of teams" by these women (all young--late twenties to early 40's who ditched their husbands for PIE). Good thing I moved back to NY when I did........

hey soldati, if you haven't noticed, ALL of our rock icons are old men altho wyman was the oldest stone--but he sure looks better than "rid hard keith" and jagger is what? 60?

>>>what are implying here lux???? . denver jazzercise center has women averaging the ages between 50 and 60. i find none of them tempting myself.
i wanted to invite JB to join me in jazzercizing in jupiter, but he was unavailable. i bet those women are pretty dried up as well. |
